I hate this for the seniors. I saw one on TV tonight and said "it doesn't matter where we play," but you could tell he was just being nice. Stinks for those kids. As far as the stadium, I always loved going to watch games there because those bleachers were cool back in the day. But they have been in bad shape for years. Went to watch a neighbor in a soccer game there last fall and noticed it was getting worse.

Just watched the replay of the game on PrepSpin. Don't get me wrong, Trinity is good and looked the part of 6-A #1. But I had heard so much about FD. How disappointing, no fight and never a shot. I do like that Trinity RB - they called him three different names?

Floyd Central is not as good as they were last year and it was 41-3 then. Male by a bunch

Will be very interesting to see the first 'RPI' and then see how much does it change over the final few weeks. If I read correctly, they are not releasing the first one until after week six.

So what happens with the three-team district in 6-A? I didn't see any others - there may be others. Does the Ballard-Eastern-Trinity district champion get a first-round bye?

They have played at U of L ever other year - when Trinity is home team - for a few years now.

Very good player and legit Power Five But call me crazy, I like the Collins kid at CAL just as much. Tough, hard-nosed kid.

He will be a big upgrade! Not sure he will be able to get the kids the way they have in recent past, but he's a much better coach.

It's tough but no where near toughest Floyd Central is terrible and they would still beat both Southern and Bullitt East. I don't think Southern has won more than four games in five years and Bullitt East has nine wins in three years. Again, Trinity and X make it tough...scrimmages are great but other than that Ballard and Butler and really pretty easy after those.

Have talked to a lot of coaches since all this happened. I still say the RPI thing is not a bad deal, but the fact that Julian Tackett can sit there and say "unanimously received by all of those involved with the game at our level" with any sincerity at all is laughable. Truly, if I had to guess, maybe 10 programs in the state that like the new format the way it is and most of those are coaches who don't vote for anything. It's as close to unanimous as you can get - the other way! I know five superintendents (or assistant supers) across the state and not one of the five said they had any knowledge of this before it happened. Oh and by the way, the same teams are still going to win.

So does Trinity district winner get a first-round bye? Since there's only a three-team district or will the KHSAA make the fifth place team from District 1 drive 3-plus hours to play?

Seneca is not bad. They have won five in a row and the Richard Ninamou kid is averaging about 20 a game. They just have a bunch of good athletes. Trinity won first time 71-55 but could be a game. And this is a team to watch come regional play. Word is they have two transfers from Central that will be able to play next week.

Word is Julian Tackett is going to meet with several from the Coaches Association next week to hear the concerns of the coaches. I would be willing to bet they change the first two rounds to play 1 v 2, 3 v 4, 5 v 6, 7 v 8 and then do the RPI - instead of staying in districts first two rounds. That would make it so much better! And by the way, there's a much bigger problem here now that I have seen things out there from so many coaches and heard from others and that's how in the world did Julian and the Board of Control do this on such a short time frame and without even consulting the coaches association. Always say I'm never stunned at what the KHSAA does but this one might take the cake.

OK, so I don't think this is such a bad idea. But here's what I don't get about it all, why be so fast to do it? Why just do it in one day and right this second? Almost seems like they tried to sneak it by. Why? Is there's something we are all missing? I have spoken with 3 coaches and 2 ADs and all different schools and not one of them knew anything about it until it was happening. Again, in the end it might be a good thing. But man a lot of unanswered questions. My biggest one right now is you are changing the format and saying you need a high RPI to get that seed in the playoffs - if you advance - so I wonder if the KHSAA will allow schools to void non-district contracts because of strength of schedule? So they can adjust their SOS. With this vote they have said strength of schedule is important, so if I am a coach tomorrow and I think I have a shot to be there then I am trying to get some tough teams on my schedule. Also, Colorado counts 5 other states the same as they count in-state teams in the RPI. What states will be counted in Kentucky? I might have missed one but I think schools played teams from Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia, Missouri, Illinois, Florida and Virginia. And also what happens to those 3-team districts? Is there a bye in the first round for some schools? So many questions. Just all rushed.

Was a great game, even in the pouring rain. Male QB is a hard-nosed dude and they don't even come close in this one without him. He took some shots and just kept going. Congrats to that kid. Trinity improved so much and with so many young kids playing key roles. The Rocks will get back to work soon. Amazing stat I heard on the walk to the car and then I looked it up and true that Trinity is 37-3 now in the playoffs since 2010. Just insane. Rocks will be back!

Very surprised by this score. Unless Ballard had some guys out? Interesting road the next two weeks for the Bruins.

Anybody other than Wandale Robinson winning Mr. Football is a joke. But then again, Rondale Moore didn't win last year.

Yeah, Manual might have the worst of it. Our neighbor plays and said they have 7 starters out for the season (or extended period of time) right now. That's unreal and yeah Trinity has had so many and X, even Male with at least one or two big injuries right?

A very, very down year. But one of these three will win it.

Exactly. Think about this stat for a second...not saying it says anything but they dominate the district foes...Trinity has 3 wins and has outsocred its opponents 279-163 and only six other 6A teams have scored more points. Again, doesn't mean anything but I wouldn't count them out.

Heard second hand it was 14-14 at the half... Can't seem to find a score.

No stats but heard X didn't move the ball much and used two QBs. Sophomore Kyle Feger played great on defense for Trinity and ended the game with a pick six. My neighbor's son is a senior at X and said the X QB play was in his words "dreadful."

Can't wait to see Central. Heard they have a really nasty defense.

I do think Male is really good. But dang how many times is Ballard supposed to be good. I watched them against Boyle County and they are not in the top 15 among 6-A teams.

Didn't look good for the three they lost tonight. And one of the top WR's didn't even dress. Not sure and can't blame loss on injuries but man tough night.
