If I could have viewed this thread earlier than this morning I could have saved TMD a lot of time answering the teams that remain perfect on the season. Mike Fields had this in his high school notebook that appears inthe herald leader.

Based on the pairings, I will say another classic Lady Saint and Bracken County matchup could be in store. Of course you play one game at a time, could be an entertaining little tournament. Best of luck to all teams.

St. Patrick would more than likely get the nod to be the favorite with Bracken knocking on the door. What are the pairings for this tournament?

If this team had a true, true point guard, GRC would be very, very dangerous. I have said this the past few years.

I will be honest here as well, anytime you travel to Northern Kentucky and pull out a win then it's a great win. I don't care who you are playing and papa is right, last years team would not have found a way to win.

Congrats to the Lady Royals for hanging in there, finding a way to win on the road. 5-0 on the season heading into the Christmas tournaments. This is a much improved team.

So after careful study and after Montgomery, who follows papa?

Turnovers, free throw shooting were both bad especially in the 4th quarter that led to the lead being cut to 6 late in the game. First game of the season, Pawsat still out of the lineup, and kids stepping into larger roles this season than what they are used to. Mason County teams over the past couple of seasons have not looked sharp in the beginning, kind of a work in progress type team right now but it will be a really nice team once they learn one another on the floor. This team has talent and kids that know how to play the game. All this group has done over the years with one another is win. Oh by the way that is what they done last night, found a way to win. A win is a win whether by 1 or 11 points. Congrats guys, focus in cause a tough opponent is ahead on Friday in Scott High.

Its called a vote by the other districts as to where the site is. This year the 38th district voted the tournament to be held at Mason County. Next years turn is the 39th so that would be why this has happened.

Bradley Lang, Justin Lang(I think he hit a couple of clutch shots in the region final against you guys.....you were looking right on one particular), Tyler Black, the addition of Manship from Montgomery who had a solid summer and then add a kid that has a lot of upswing to him in Josh Harris and I think this team has the makings to be pretty good. Pretty good balance, and all these kids have ever done has been go and out and win. I don't need to explain anything to you specifically that I haven't already tried to do in the past. Opinions are prized possesions to ones self, and as you can see in the earlier post, I am basing some of my thoughts on just that! I haven't seen it(state rankings) yet is one reason, and secondly it will be on my opinion as well that for the last 2 years, Mason has started at the top spot and ended there as well. Mason County has a lot of talent returning, a lot of kids that got valuable minutes last year that will only help this year. Again Tradition Never Graduates as well as Championships! Goldsunrise, I couldn't imagine you not thinking the Cards would be preseason #1, but JF from Mason County nailed it last year and I do believe we remember the results. Zollo has been injured and that has prevented him from going up the rankings I am sure in some eyes. The hype that has surrounded him by committing to UK, now decommitting and I hear the likes of Notre Dame and others on his trail. Hope he has a bust out year so that the expectations that have been leveled down on him will come true and the kid can just relax. In my one year of seeing him and that was hampered by illness, injury, the performance has not supported the hype. JF, thata boy, and the cabbie likes the predictions as well. I agree with you on all points and have never doubted the work that has been put in by the players and coach. The Lady Saints will be a tough out on anyones schedule, I never disputed that one. As far as the past and letting it be, I just responded to what another poster commented on above from St. Patrick with the previous coach and program. He was a good leader as well and has done a lot for kids over the year as well. Thats my opinion. The girls program overall at St. Pat over the past 10 years has enjoyed success. Best of luck!

I don't think any fans outside of St. Patrick cares who the coach is and furthermore I never understood this topic to begin with. Coach Douglas is the coach despite what official title the school has. She has done well. She is surrounded by talented ladies who work hard. Coach Buser was surrounded by talented kids, Coach Ormes was surrounded by talented kids in his successful years. Coach Kues at BB had great talent, Smooth over at Paris had great teams, Whitaker at Harrison County and list goes on and on. Sure the head coach has to work hard at their job and put their players in positions to compete, but players win games. Coaches refer to this as PMP, (players making plays). Like Sumo said, Calapari is successful by getting kids that are great players. The success of the coach for the most part is the end result of his/her players. To answer the last question imo, MC didn't snag him because he didn't apply. You gotta have your application in to be considered.

Thomasmoredad, your program was just fine under Coach Ormes, not taking anything away with the success that the current coach has enjoyed along with her kids. Every program goes through tough years and dips into a rebuilding mode much like Coach Ormes was in up until he was dismissed(and along with being dismissed he was grossly disrespected). If Bishop Brossart doesn't have Katie Schewgman and a supporting cast during their great run in the All A tournament in those years, guess who goes to the state and represents? Yes your St. Patrick Lady Saints! Coach Ormes would be the first to tell you that he was blessed with talent in his tenure, refrencing to the likes of Joanna Bess, the Klee sisters, Owens just to name a few. That is where his success was fuel by those great players, not what solely the head coach done. Much like your current coach Douglas, she is surrounded by great players and players win the games, coaches enjoy the success, the only thing that a head coach will ever take responsibility for is a loss or at least a good coach will do that.

I would agree with Tubbycat, while its always tough to leave young student athletes when things are not in your hands to control for the reason to exit, when October rolls around, his heart will be poured into the Augusta Panther basketball program because you are only as successful as to how much you pour your heart into something. Anything short of that is not what Coach Hinson is about. He left because a coaching stipend and elementary AD will not put the meat and potatoes on the table for the family, its called stability in the job and it wasn't at his former school.
