  1. Glad I could amuse you. Does our resident Beechwood fan have any comments on the scouting issue? I believe you have been silent.
  2. Agreed. However they don't scout in preparation for scrimmages like Beechwood did this week.
  3. Did you take note that Beechwood scouted Conner? Don't discount the importance of a game plan.
  4. Not to mention Beechwood scouted Conner earlier in week.
  5. My guess is this saddens a fair number of Trinity fans, who would have liked to have seen coach Glaser continue on.
  6. I think it is great that Dixie is filling in, but I would ask... Can Dixie do that? Is there a scrimmage limitation?
  7. I would venture a guess that the better Cov. Cath swimmers (like all KY high schools) swim with their club team and not with their high school team. High school practices in KY are for those kids who don't swim club.
  8. What would the level of non-scholarship D-1 be equivalent to? I understand by definitition it is D-1 and play could vary widely between schools that play at this level, but would it be equivalent to the old D-1 AA, DII, or something else?
  9. They only have 3 of those games, one of which is against X. They already play national powers with the potiential of having them televised. What is the benefit to Trinity? With that said the question of could Trinity be a member of the KHSAA and not participate in football is an interersting question though.
  10. Who are some of the kids on this team?
  11. Duffer and Tom Duffy couldn't have said it better.
  12. Why does this sound like a "fantastic" idea? How much would you think such a position should be paid?
  13. I can't imagine that lights only one side of the field would work. Does anyone know of a field that has lights on only side?
  14. I don't think I would ever employ such a system; however, I am sure the ones who have the most difficult time with it are the parents.
  15. You stake out a position that this game cheated the players and the fans and now many others are saying it was one of the most memorable games of the tourney. Which is it? It can't be both.
  16. Is there a reason we believe it might be her last game?
  17. Certainly one way to spin it.
  18. I hope this thread never ends. Way too much fun.
  19. It violated nothing. It was a strategy employed by Dean Smith, who by any definition is one of the greatest basketball coaches. Sports at its best is all about game planning, adjustments, coaching decisions. If underdogs play by conventional strategies and follow expectations they will lose a high (dare I say VERY HIGH) percentage of the time; however, that isn't what happened. The coach of Highlands took a team that had been beaten soundly earlier in the season and had them in a position to win late in the game. You can't ask for much more than that from a coach. In contrast, the coach of NDA took a team that was clearly the better team and not only made no adjusments, but seemed rather clueless as to what to do or how to handle it and was fortunate to come out with a win. I realize what happened doesn't fit your paradigm for what a game should "loook like", whatever 'should look like" is, but I would encourage you to rethink the events. As someone earlier in the thread stated it was in stark contrast to other first round games where the coaches couldn't game plan to give their kids a chance to win a the end.
  20. To ask that question, you really aren't grasping the situation or the strategy.
  21. I would question whether the NDA coach had ever 1.) even seen the stall employed or 2.) contemplated the what if scenario of how to respond to it. If you are under 40, it is doubtful you have seen a team really use it.
  22. Do you guys believe that Beatty and/or his system is attractive to the better kids in greater Louisville? If you do then that would likely create a gap between T and X alone.
