If you take out T's current "run of talent" is the gap really that wide?

Featured Replies

In other words, if we go back to the ten games before Quick and Company showed up, where was the series between T and X at? And does it figure to return to "that place" once Quick and Company moving on to D1 pastures?

I've always thought this was an aberration.

Do you guys believe that Beatty and/or his system is attractive to the better kids in greater Louisville? If you do then that would likely create a gap between T and X alone.

I think to accurately answer this question, we will have to wait until this group of athletes have left. But, I think both schools are pretty close, but Trinity has a great deal of talent right now and appears to be head and shoulders above everyone for now. I think when this group has graduated the gap between Trinity and St. X will narrow somewhat, but Trinity will still be the team to beat.

Since Beatty arrived it is 9 championships to 2. Seven of those predate this years Juniors. So yes, X is a firm No 2. It goes back to long before Beatty arrived. It goes back to 1968. X has been two for most of that time. They will stay there.

As I said in another thread, a lot of people thought T would fall off after Brian Brohm left. That has not happened. Going forward, as long as Coach Beatty and Coach Lampley are running the show, there is no reason to think that Trinity's run will not continue. "Go Rocks"

I agree. I have heard we have some talent coming that will be as good or better than what we have now, but that is purely rumor. Seems to be a no brainer: Play in a wide open offense or go run off tackle all day, night, year, decade. :p

Time will tell.

How much longer is Beatty expected to be around?

Last year the JVs/Freshman teams at X/Rocks were pretty equal. I believe the X won the Frosh game, but they were close games.

My gut tells me about 5 more seasons.

Next year's incoming class is loaded, FYI.

Incoming freshman, juniors?

Juniors could not play next year per KHSAA rules, I believe.
