Sounds like maybe the stage a little big for some of the HHS girls. If not for a few missed layups, NDA may have been looking form the outside in. Not bad HHS for being shorthanded. Yeah, there it is! I said it. Hahahaha!!! Congrats to both teams for making Regionals and to NDA for withstanding a great game plan. Good luck Pandas!!! Win Regions!

Jamie will catch some flack for this but, in reality, I pass more blame to Nicole for LETTING it happen. If you're better force HHS to dribble, pass, and shoot.

 

Jame did what she thought was best to win the game and, by golly, it almost worked. Glad I didn't pay to watch it though.

Holy cow, the feller in the other thread sounds like a bit of sour grapes to me. Seriously, get over it. Looks like most agree with this being a great game plan. How else would you of wanted HHS to play without arguably their floor leader. With this being a young team, seems to me this was the best way to attack the Pandas. And NDA won because they were the better team tonight. Just like during the regular season game. NDA won! So really does it matter if NDA would have won 54-48 or something like that. NOPE!!! Again, great game plan!!! Just didn't play out for the Birds this time.

 

I guess the big question is, does any other Coach in the regions try this strategy?

I saw highlands play Walton...they had a talented left-handed player, heard maybe even being looked at by UK. Can someone help me with her name & class? Is she or other girls out and this why Highlands is short-handed?

I can't see any girl in NKY outside of Sydney getting looks from UK.

How do you sell this to your players?

Highlands went 24:10 without scoring until they got a basket at the 7:50 mark of the fourth quarter. Trying to contact Butch Cope at the KHSAA to see if this was the lowest scoring girls basketball game in the post-season since the KHSAA re-instituted girls basketball back in the 1970s.

Again, I'm not being critical of the strategy. I'm asking how a coach sells this to the team. What does she say directly or indirectly?

I like the strategy. I like even more that someone had the guts to try and use it. Props to you Coach Richey.:clap:

I would also add props to Coach Levandusky for countering with the stalling once the second half started. Heck if you've got a lead on a team that is stalling, then counter with it yourself.
