Agree with that! The first game between these 2 teams was a "blood bath" (literally)!

Spirit of the game was compromised. I also heard others say it was poor sportsmanship although I wouldn't go this far. There is nothing more exciting than a regional tournament but this sure wasn't it. I understand strategy but sorry, I didn't see strategy in this tactic. Players worked summer, all fall and winter to say this is how we are going to win? Give your best effort and see how far your team can go. I'd rather see my kids going down with giving it their all and best to compete. There just wasn't much competition from either team.

 

I follow Highlands' reason (not understand) but I'm not sure why NDA killed the clock in the third quarter? If Highlands doesn't have more turnovers and missed layups than points, they win and you would really have to question what NDA was doing. Whole thing was just bizzare.

 

Some would argue SK was a 20+ point underdog last night but they came out, gave it their best shot and guess what? There was a group of kids who had trouble sleeping because they were so pumped about their win.

Seniors robbed of last game, regardless of chance to win they really got cheated in this one. They were embarrassed on the court while the crowd yelled. If this were a final perhaps but let em play. Just my opinion obviously.

 

So if Coach Richy says to her team, I am not going to coach you the best way to win because some might perceive it as "being cheated" out of possibly your last high school game. Stop it!. Oh for goodness sake, stop it. Boo Hoo to all who got their feelings hurt for not getting their "monies" worth. I mean seriously, c'mon people. HHS wasn't winning this game without some type of trickery or off the cuff strategy. And it almost worked! Again I say great job Coach Richey and Congrats NDA!!!

Excellent strategy/coaching by HHS! Coach Richey gave her girls their best chance to win IMO. Any fans who are mad abt the strategy are wrong. If she tries to run with a clearly more talented NDA team they get blown out period. The region tourney needs games like this from time to time to spice things up a bit. I applaud her staff & team for giving it their best shot. Congrats to NDA on the win. The point of any tourney is to win & move on and NDA did that... Is it really any different when a football or soccer team stalls and the final is 6-0 or 1-0? I thought it was fun to watch!

Again, if you were there, you must understand that the blame should not fall soley on Highlands. ND played into the game plan and could have changed the tempo of the game but they chose not to. ND coach siad "we will play" and she did and almost took one on the chin when in fact she had the horses and the talent to change the tempo on a dime and beat HHS by 20.

 

If Highlands wins this game the PHM may have had an emergency meeting tonite at PeeWees.

 

C'mon people, nobody got hurt, the people complaining here are the ND supporters and the tite wallets that are complaining that they didnt get their 8 bucks worth. :lol: If Highlands robbed your daughter, granddaughter, neice etc from scoring her 20 or 30 and shining in front of the crowd then too bad. Its a team sport, not an individual sport and sometimes it not all about little Curly, its about the program and the team.

THis shot would have put Highlands ahead with about 1.5 minutes to go. It fell short. I get how this was a strategy to win the game but no one, absolutely no one would attend games if this strategy were employed regularly. Can you say shot clock?

This would be the only time and I would be for it. Regular season, uhhhhhhh, there are some teams that cant get a shot off in 30 secs, not their fault, it is what it is and you have seen these teams in Girls BB, it could be bad. It would only work for tourney.............
