I agree that this may have been the best strategy for the HHS coaches to employ to have a chance to win the game. That said, I think it sends a poor message to the team. It is like a baseball coach telling his team that they have no chance hitting against an overpowering pitcher so just crowd the plate, leave the bat on your shoulder and hope to get drilled in the back with a fastball. The HHS players, especially the seniors, deserved a better message from their coach.

Again if you were there or had listened in to the broadcast you would have learned that they got in free the day of their game as long as they were in uniform. Just wondering but did you drive in the same car as the player? Their school in lieu of having a team bus could have given the girls money to park out of the funds they got from the Ninth Region.

Kudos to Coach Richey and the HHS girls for sticking with the game plan. Highlands looses this game by 20 to 30 if they try and run with the pandas, PERIOD..........

The game plan worked, ND coach fell into the trap and darn near robbed her Srs an opportunity to move on. If any ND fans should be rattled or upset with anyone it should be with their coach for letting it happen and playing into Highlands hand.

Highlands makes a couple of bunnies and people are screaming at the KHSAA for a shot clock in HS basketball.

Like someone else said, who or what team will try this again and when?

 

The book of "how to" says you dont do this but sometimes coaches overcoach and should just do whatever is necessary to win.

 

Congrats to the ND girl for keeping her head in this game and hitting the two huge jump shots. The other ND girls and coaches may be upset that Highlands didnt play fair but hey who said life is fair.

 

Good luck to the Pandas and I hope you take your frustrations out on the next two teams and hopefully make a deep run in the State Tourney. :thumb:

 

For all the crybabies complaining about the money, we can certainly rob these girls of an awesome experience to play in a big time venue and move it back to the HS.

As I stated, the schools knew on Sunday what was going to happen. If NDA chooses not to transport their players at the the schools expense why should the Region pick up the tab? Again, why doesn't NDA reimburse the girls if your so worried about it!

I would have loved to have heard the radio broadcast of the game. The announcers had to be going crazy trying to call play by play when there was no play!
