  1. If everyone does it the right way. The numbers will win 90% of the time. :fight:
  2. A classic song. One of my favorites. IMO if you class anything, class everything. It's only fair. Football coaches always brag when they beat a larger class school or use it as an excuse when they lose to one. I agree it is easier to win a football title than a region in basketball. We have talked about that for years. While change is being done lets align all sports in the same districts and regions. How can anyone keep up with volleyball or soccer district/regions. :fight:
  3. I have always been harder on my alma mater. I always expected more from them than the other team. if I get back into officiating I would scratch them as well. :fight:
  4. I wish he were staying at Pulaski. To much blame placed on him for things that were not his fault. Good luck Coach Deaton!! Whitley County just gained a fan. :fight:
  5. If you have to die, looks like as good a place as any! :fight:
  6. The first 4 minutes killed SW. Boyle's intensity and SW lack of, for the first 4 is what doomed SW. If you blinked you would have missed it then it was 16-4. I have only seen SW play 4 or 5 times this year. It did look to me that they were playing some kind of gimmick D in the first quarter. Was it or was it that they had 2 different people in there. They looked lost on how to rotate. I thought the refs were terrible all week. My thoughts and prayers are with the 14th.. Did anyone see Tamme's(#11) finger. Ouch!!Good luck Boyle! :fight:
  7. IMO you should use a girls ball. Some people feel that using the boys ball makes you stronger and helps you. I am not one of them. Thats what weights are for. :fight:
  8. Ask any Ralph Sampson fan. I don't think they were to fond of Mark. :fight:
  9. Looks like this would be a great place for Mike Deaton to enter back into coaching. Son already there. Daughter could play under him. What do ya think? :fight:
  10. speculation or facts? If I had to bet on it now I would say one of the boys assistants will be the next Lady jumper Coach. Lots of jocking from that camp. I also believe that group might have the supers ear bent their way a little. If I were them I would pick an outsider. Worked when they did it for the boys. :fight:
  11. Never using 3 hits, when using 2 hits it not being for strategic reasons. Fist serving. Under hand serving. No multiple attack offenses. Teams that don't transition at all. Lots of throwing and multiple hits. Thats what we call Jungle ball. Some people in the south call it Barnyard ball. :fight:
  12. Old Coach is Boyles ex coach. Can't remember her name now. :fight:
  13. When his daughter played he was involved with AAU with Todd. Todd was still at Berea then. Jim did a lot scouting for Todd during previous state tourneys. In fact one of Todds assistants is a Somerset Grad. I think she is still there. :fight:
  14. They also scrimmaged Tates Creek. Pulaski will play anyone, anywhere. They just can't get teams from the Northern parts to schedule. And believe me they have tried. Northern teams think because they are from the Southern part of the state that they play "Jungle ball". That is not the case. They play very "traditional". What Northern teams don't understand is that teams that play "traditional" in their part of the state(Pulaski's) still have to compete with "Jungle ball". They are 2 totally different worlds. Nothing wrong with either one, just 2 totally different worlds. Both are played within the rules, but "traditionalist" blow a head gasket when watching "Jungle ball". :fight:
  15. I asked about it on another post and was waiting for a topic. Shocker isn't the word. Garrard does have great young coach and (at least last year, think she is still there) a experienced old coach on the bench. Wayne County has had trouble putting points on the board this year. Heck every year. You have to kind a think Wayne over looked them. Old Coach Ken hurt at Garrard had a way of pulling the upsets. It lookes like the tradition marches on. :fight:
  16. I think the blame that is being placed is about players he lost or almost lost. Whole lot of turmoil in that program. Lots of forces pulling from the inside in different directions. Jim was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I would bet he surfaces at Lex. catholic next year as an assistant. :fight:
  17. Rowan was 23-16 and I think lost in the region semi's. Pulaski was 31-5 and lost in the region finals. :fight:
  18. Jim Brown was forced out Tuesday as the coach of the Lady Jumpers. Paper said new hire will be in place by May. Do they stay in house or bring in new blood. Kinda surprising move if you ask me. :fight:
  19. They won that game didn't they. Then lost in the finals. Wasn't that the year 2 or 3 players transferred to Pulaski. :fight:
  20. The word around town is Son stays at somerset and daughter stays at Pulaski. This coming from a VERY close source. :fight:
  21. What was the Garrard/ Wayne score? :fight:
  22. And will for several years. :fight:
  23. The only thorn I see in the their side is self inflicted, don't ya think. You can't believe this mess was brought on or complicated by the principal, can you??? Without the principal all 3 boys sports (and maybe some girls sports) might have gone up in smoke. :irked: If you get my drift. :fight:
  24. My crystal ball says Flynn. :fight:
  25. And may I add all were very good kids. The group of girls that are 7th-8th graders now could have the same impact. (I as well know this is a boys forum, sorry). :fight:
