I was at a club team volleyball tourny this weekend in the 'ville and seen several plates from Rowan...Have they started up a club program in that part of the state? If they have its great to see :thumb: or maybe i have missed the boat :creepy: .......if they have is this the first year or have i missed them at other tourny's....good to see...i hope those outside the golden triangle takes notes.... :irked:

I hope they have started club. This would be a great move for the sport of volleyball in Kentucky to get more areas involved.

No club teams i found out today....2 or 3 dedicated kids playing for Lexington Select...gotta give them credit....:ylsuper::thumb:

I wonder how far Rowan County is from Lexington? Great for the few that are playing, but I would still like to see more clubs get started around the state.

I agree with cvb. As I attend club tournaments throughout the region I would like to see a larger state representation. Louisville and NKY have some very competitive clubs but I would like to see some from around the state get more involved.

For most of the athletes around the state basketball is just getting finished and softball is starting. Girls in the smaller schools play more than one sport. You could not find enough that volleyball only to do club ball.

I certainly understand that problem with the smaller schools. Smaller schools in NKY have the same problem. Either the vball program falls behind because the girls play basketball or the basketball program suffers because the vball players play club vball rather than bball. It is a tough decision.

I think they are the Slammers. I think they are playing 15's or 16's. It's been awhile since I have talked with their coach. As for the girls playing with the select, I think Select kinda went after one of them.

Yes there is. They are the Lake Cumberland Splash. They are made up of mostly Pulaski County players. I think they have a girl or two from Somerset and a couple from casey County and one or two from Boyle County. They have 18's and 16's, I think.
