First time since 1994 that a 9th region team has made it to the championship game. Good luck Pandas! -
Congrats to the Pandas for advancing to the quarterfinals.

The fact that the KHSAA gives districts the option to seed or do a blind draw is a joke. Mandate one or the other across the board. Of course, the only reason this is an issue is the fact that there is no classification. Certainly, don't blame the group of smaller school who are usually less competitive for wanting a blind draw, especially if they're in a district featuring two powerhouse team. It is the only way, in most years, they have a chance to go the region. The only consistent thing about the KHSAA over the years has been their inconsistency. Example: Classify cross country, track and field with 3 classes, football with 6 classes and don't classify anything else.

Lady Camels take it by 10. 59-49 -
The Lady Camels improve to 15-0 and earn the top seed in the 37th district. Campbell's full-court press was effective all night long.

You have to give them credit for playing the 5-time defending 10th Region champions. Who would have thought that Montgomery would have had a losing record this season? It sure doesn't happen very often. The schedule will be tougher with the likes of Scott, Notre Dame, Ryle and Simon Kenton in the weeks ahead. I have heard that February 9 may be the make-up date for the Boone game. However, I don't believe that it's officially been rescheduled yet. -
The varsity contest between the Rebels and Camels scheduled for 1-7 was postponed due to icy road conditions. No word on when the contest will be rescheduled.

Megan Spicer was a big sparkplug for the Camels in the final period. I think the Boone transfer will be a big key to the Camels success this season. She's a solid player and a great ball handler and you know that she came from a solid program with good coaching. -
I think that at some middle schools, the coaching his sub par and the kid actually gets more out of being coached by someone at the high school level. In a perfect world, it would be great to keep a kid at the middle school level through the 8th grade, but I know for a fact that at some middle schools, the coaching and development isn't there. I say if a player is talented enough to make a high school team as a 7th and 8th grader and get quality playing time than why not?

Saturday morning semi-finals, why?
FREEAGENT replied to All In's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
By having the semis and finals on the same day, the KHSAA keeps from having to rent Rupp Arena another day just for the championship game. They would make no more money if they started it on Tuesday because you would still be playing 15 games. The KHSAA would only lose money because they would be renting Rupp for 5 days for 15 games as opposed to 4 days. It comes down to a business decision with their most profitable event of the year. -
