Very sad to hear about this. I never had a chance to meet him but over the years we've had some good debates. BGP was lucky to have him as a member . He will be missed.

I think Middlesboro will have a good season in 2013 and should compete for a district title , I also think the gap between Middlesboro and Bell County is closing and we have a really good shot at em this season. We're loaded at RB (Best I've seen in awhile) Barton , Uhl , Pittman and Brock are all really good and not much of a drop off and actually have a good line to block for em , Poindexter at WR/DB and Donnie Foister WR/DB are both outstanding players and if Edwards at QB can get em the ball they can take it the distance. We need to Improve on defense , had a HUGE problem wrapping up and tackling last season (yards after contact) I don't know the stat but it probably cost us a few games last season , they better be hitting the weight room hard this summer.

If I had to only pick one It would be Phillip Haywood.

Close game 7-7 at the half than early in the 3rd LaRue went up 14-7 but after that is was all Bell County.

Bell county 35 LaRue County 14 late in the 4th LaRue just turned it over on downs.

I didn't see any construction everything looked completed. I think with it being the first ever game at the new stadium and it being rivalry game everyone came out to watch it , I don't think they'll see another crowd like that again unless it's 3 or 4th round of the playoffs against a team that travels well. It's so big that a average crowd will make it look empty.

Here is where we had to walk from.

Loved the stadium it's probably the biggest HS stadium I've personally ever been to , i bet just the home side holds close to 5 or 6 thousand ppl. Absolutely hated the LONG walk , We had to park on the highway about 3 miles from the school and than the concession stand was awful the people working was so slow and it took over 30 minutes to get a soda. Bell County could not stop Harlan County and IMO the TD right before the half is what broke Bell's back.

It was hard to over come 6 turnovers for the jackets but they totally dominated the line of scrimmage.

The better team won last night , We had our chances to be up 2 score but with turnovers and penalties it wasnt meant to be and still don't think that would of been enough to get the win. A cpl bright spots for the Jackets #3 Jake Brock might be small but he runs hard and is very quick and #5 Pittman on defense he was all over the football field last night. Good Luck Bourbon County the rest of the season , the folks in B.C. has a team they can be proud of and the Jackets good luck next week against Hancock County.
