Coach Hall was a "Para", however, he does have a teaching degree. As far as Bill Walker, I don't think there is any doubt that he is not eliglible to play in Ohio. He played two semesters of basketball as a freshman at Rose Hill. Further, it is a fact that his "handlers" took Bill out of school because they didn't get their way. Essentially, they threatened (after the Class A Region Championship) that if they didn't get their way and Rose Hill didn't move Bill back down to 8th grade then they would pull him from school. The "handlers" thought Rose Hill would blink and put him back to 8th, especially after Bill had such a great Class A Region. Rose Hill did the right thing, really the only thing, and told the "handlers" that Bill would remain in the 9th grade. So they pulled him from school at the end of Janurary.....and the rest is history. I would say that the best thing for Bill Walker would be a year at Oak Hill Academy. Notice that in all of the Bill Walker talk there isn't a mention of parental input. There is a reason for that. If Bill were at Oak Hill he would be away from the "Handlers" and under some quality coaching. If he is not already messed up there may still be a bright future for this extremely gifted athlete.

Congratulations Sarah! I am so proud of this young lady. She has given and sacrificed for the good of the Lady Royal's program for 6 years. She deserves every accolade that she receives.

Isn't that amazing that his "coach/guardian" is now a major universities Director of Basketball Operations when the best job he ever had was driving a delivery truck for Lays Potato Chips? I wonder how much of all this the K-State people know? :irked:

The parents probably should have "stepped up" to the plate, but none of us know all of the facts. Mybe the parents and coaches consulted a doctor or trainer and got the "ok" as long as the young lady felt fine and the leg was wrapped correctly, I don't know. But I am not going to blame a coach or the whole school for what was, in essence, a decision made by the parents and athlete.

For once I would have to agree with Rickyp, Rose Hill had a great run, and peaked at the right time, but LexCath is great team.

Congratulation to Coach Todd and the Lady Knights to end up #3 in the Nation in todays edition of USAToday. They had a great year and represented the Bluegrass State well.

I don't think Rose Hill is going to be as bare as everyone thinks. It is going to be hard to replace Kala Faulkner, Sarah Yates, and Katy Spradlin (for reasons more than talent), however, I am told of a couple of good young players that are looking at Rose Hill. If they get a couple of players, along with Lindsey Adkins (who should have gotten more playing time) and Leah Terry (Laura's little sister), I think they could make a repeat trip to Bowling Green.

Coach Euton and the team took a lot of criticism this year, some was deserved, most was not. In the end though, the team not only met their expectation, but they exceeded anyone's wildest dreams (or nightmare depending on who you cheer for). Therefore, I believe that Coach Euton deserves a lot of credit and praise for the job she did. You can be certain she would have taken a lot of the heat had the team been beaten in the 1st round of the districts.

I believe that she took the coaching job at Rose Hill 3 or 4 years ago and this is her first coaching job. Presently she is also the schools athletic director.

I can't see why so many people take shots at Lexington Catholic, except for no other reason but jealousy. I susbscribe to the theory that "...a rising tide affects all boats" and when you have a program in Kentucky that is as well run and as good as LexCath it then forces the other programs to raise their level of play. That happended in the 16th Region when West Carter was dominating for a few years. Instead of whining all the time some of the programs actually looked at West and saw what Hop Brown and his staff were doing to win, then they applied some of those principles to their program. The next thing you know everyone was getting better. Unless you are "ate up" with envy, I think everyone in the state ought to thank LexCath for raising the bar and helping to put girls basketball on the map. I'll bet the Louisville and UK's womens coachs are very happy to see the level of girls play in Kentucky get better, hopefully that well spill over to their programs.:thumb: Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I honestly think that there is no real merit to the critisism of the sucessful programs around the state.

Congratulations to the Lady Knights, they proved that they are the best team in the state of Kentucky and one of the best teams in the country. Congratulations also go out to Rose Hill who gave LexCath everything they could handle and, by far, their biggest challenge at the State tournament. As everyone has pointed out, Rose Hill is playing with, essentially, no bench and their motor (Kala Faulkner) was playing with a bad wheel. They played a great tournament and were a great source of pride not only for the 16th Region, but for every small school in the state. I'm very proud of you girls you conducted yourselves with class, hold your heads high!

Good luck Lady Royals and no matter what the outcome of the game tonight you have made history for the little school on Winslow Road. You have gone places no team has ever gone (including OJ and the gang). Plus you have done it with class

LexCath was VERY MERCIFUL in this game. They could have won by 60 points if they really wanted to. They cruised inthe 3rd qtr and emptied their bench in the 4th. Even when Henderson started cutting into the lead LexCath just let it go and played their subs.

I think that Troy Lee does have bigger and better things ahead. He is a great coach and Rowan County will miss him when he finally does move on.

Great win for the Lady Royals, but if they want to win against LexCath the have to stay away from the needless fouls. Plus Emily Queen has to play more in the paint, where she is much more effective. Kala Faulkner played a real gutsy game and Laura Terry was very consistent. I saw LexCath and they're tough, but on any given night....

I don't know what he did to deserve the suspension, but I would hate for him not to play in the championship game...those are once in a lifetime moments (maybe twice for him).

It seems like Elliott County is a coaching turnstyle, if they want to build a program they need some stability. Look at East, West or Boyd County.

You're right LRCW, as usual. I meant Brandy Rayburn, who is a fine player and deserves to play at the D1 level. However, I can't believe that Kala Faulkner wasn't voted POY, she deserved the award no matter what criteria is used.
