POY in each region

Is it common practice to give the POY of each region to a senior. Just wondering if any other regions had seniors receive this award over a underclassman that was just or maybe even more deserving.

Yes it is. Only seniors can get POY.

Each POY receives an automatic invite to the KY All Star tryouts that is open only to seniors.

So theoretically you could have a POY not even make the all region team. Not sure if that ever happened though. I know in the 9th region we had only 2 seniors make the division 1 all region team all others were underclassmen. Carrey Fay was POY. An exceptionally nice young lady who gives 110% all the time and a credit to our region. I wish here luck in here future endevours and hope to see her playing at the next level.

I think Brooke Faulkner of Harrision County (no relation that I'm aware of) is the 10th Region POY.

I agree that both Faulkners, no relation, deserve the award in their respective regions. Brooke Faulkner is fine player.

Brandi Ramey?? She used to be an assistant coach at Rose Hill, only her name is Brandi Bevins now.

 

Now Brandy Rayburn of West Carter is a great player, and had a great season, but my vote would still go to Kala Faulkner.

Brooke is the POY in the 10th. Tony Sosbe was voted COY. Brooke is not related to Kala even though her dad graduated from Russell.

Don't quote me but I do believe Heather Martin got the player of the year here in the 14th.

If this is KABC poy of the year you're talking about the awards are given out at the state tournament, the voting was done a little over a month ago.
