  1. I agree. But it is close. Smith had a lot of talent to work with through the years. That being said, Chuck Smith was/is a GREAT coach. They do run a VERY similar style of defense though...
  2. I don't think West or LC or getting a whole lot of respect. Two things they do, PLAY DEFENSE. The region, once again, is wide open. If I were breaking it down, my preseason predictions would look like this: 1. McCreary Central-they need to prove they can win a postseason game. 2. Wayne Co.-Came on strong last year. 3. Lincoln-Two Time defending champ.... Best senior in the region, IMO. Best Coach. 4. West Jessimane-Well coached-Big time guard coming back. 5. Boyle County- How will the new coach adjust? Player of the year-Watts (assuming he is healthy)
  3. Guess who taught him...:confused::walk:
  4. Thank you Mr. Obvious. :jump:
  5. Larry French is the best high school defense coach I have ever seen. That being said he knew BC was loaded with young talent, and he is taking advantage of it...
  6. Pats win in a schocker in Lancaster. LC was a big underdog. Glad to see Coach Settles get his first win at Lincoln County. The Pats came out and controlled the line (on both sides) all night long. Tre Edwards had a monster night for LC, nearly 200 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Garrard started slow, and fell too far behind to make it a game. Tyler Ray is a good looking athlete for Garrard County.
  7. I assume this just recently happened? What an awful way to get injured.
  8. I watch a whole of high school sports, and Watts is one of the best athletes in the state. I think he is a future D1 basketball player. Heck, or any other sport he wants to play. The real deal. I wish him a speedy recovery.
  9. Just asked the simple question, no reason to draw conclusions. He is one of my favorite players to watch in the state and I wanted to know if the injury would effect his basketball season.
  10. Will this effect basketball season?
  11. Garrard County should win this game, LC doesn't have the firepower to keep up. Hope I am wrong, but...
  12. BC by 3 or 4 touchdowns. French did a good job stopping Mercer last year, I look for more of the same. BC is rolling.
  13. Lincoln lost a lot of talent, that is the first problem. Secondly, the numbers are way down. They are dressing less than 30 kids a game. The lack of a feeder program has caught up to them, they didn't even play JV last year. Injuries are preventing the team from at least being a competitive squad. Tre Edwards QB/MLB (regarded by most as the teams best player) did not play. His back-up Austin Hinds, was hurt in the first quarter. The third string QB is a senior who has never took a snap in a varsity game before. Honestly, I don't remember the kid ever playing football before this year. The line was suppose to be the strength of the team, and has been a huge weakness. Mainly due to injury. One of their top lineman has not seen the field all year due to injury. At the end of the day, injuries and lack of depth are killing the team. The positive thing, is that a lot of young kids are getting a lot of valuable varisty experience.
  14. This is also a defensive strategy that French and Chuck Smith use a lot against passing teams. They will drop 7-8 kids in coverage. I wasn't at the game, but it appears that the strategy worked well, considering they won the game and limited a high scoring offense to 11 points.
  15. Lincoln was leading 6-0 with about a minute to go in the second half. SW scored a td to go up 7-6 at the half. LC fumbled the snap on a punt to start the 3rd quarter, and never recovered. The team really started to struggle when Marcum got hurt. Depth is killing them, a 5a team dressing 30 players?? Not developing a program through freshman and JV ball has caught up to LC. The past few season they had enough talent to get by. Now they don't.
  16. I haven't heard anything about this. He has played injured, but I don't think it is anything season threatening.
  17. Two of the three have played, but not much.
  18. They also, more importantly, miss a bunch of talent lost from the past two seasons.
  19. When doesn't Lincoln County support their high school team? It is a misconception to think that community doesn't support the high school team. They always have a big following, win or lose. Southwestern is the obvious favorite, however I think this could be a close game. LC's biggest problem is lack of depth. They have had numerous injuries to an already thin roster.
  20. LC is averaging 14.3 (43 total points) per game and giving up 38.7 (116 total points) per game.
  21. TD GRC. Game over. Scored on a pass from the 9 yard line on second down.
  22. Good point, you can't withstand injuries when you have no backups, this is going to be a long year in Stanford. However, I think they have a great staff in place that will rebuild the program. The "team" has been good the past couple of years. But, that is the problem, it was a good team/not program.
  23. Yes. They all were rushing except one punt return for a TD. Mercer dominated the game, I expected them to beat LC, but not this bad. This is one of the worse losses I can ever remember in Death Valley. LC is rebuilding, but still shouldn't be getting beat like this.
