  1. If it was directly above the post, the correct call is "no good"... The ball must be inside the posts.
  2. Wow... Campbell taking off on the fake punt was HUGE. Big risk, but yielded a big reward for the Redhounds.
  3. Uhhhh... This isn't looking like a mismatch, folks. For SURE not the difference many were calling for... :sssh:
  4. YOU are the man, IM4 !!! I have business in Cincinnati tomorrow through the weekend and can't make the game. The laptop is going with me now. You've just made my day !!! Hope everyone had a GREAT Thanksgiving...(and have had a nice nap) :ylsuper:
  5. Highlands might win 2-3 out of 10 playing T, but this year, X (the only team that would be competitive with Colerain) is 3 or more scores better than T or HHS. Highlands has a spectacular football program and history, but it isn't national "top tier" until it can beat a Cincy major or one of the big Louisville 2.
  6. I think, "GOO-ee-DOO-glee" sounds cooler, though...
  7. Is his name pronounced "jooee-doogly", "joo-doogly", or what ?? (there aren't many Italian family names in these parts)
  8. Maybe it's a "Deliverance" thing...(beware the banjo music)
  9. I think the Pikeville comparison (the only one completely out of kilter) is a little misleading. The Hounds made the long trip to play a Panther squad that was pumped up for the Pike Co. Bowl, whereas P-burg played them at home after Pikeville had been thoroughly softened up by Ashland, LexCath, and Belfry (Pikeville was scheduled wayyy over its head). Though it was very unusual for Pikeville, the team that played P-burg quit in the 2nd quarter.
  10. The tackle wasn't dirty, but one can just imagine the force hitting that knee if the cleat was holding the carpet when the impact came. I don't want to start yet another grass vs. turf war...but I think the traction on artificial surfaces is often too good. The give in sod or the slip/slide on frozen or muddy ground can be a knee saver (even if it's tough on tailbones). Here's hoping the young man heals uneventfully... :thumb:
  11. Now THAT's a classy way to lose, FC. You weren't beaten, you just ran out of ammo... :thumb:
  12. Jerry's is in Prestonsburg. If you're staying until Saturday morning, it's worth the drive (12 mi.) to P-burg to eat breakfast there. The "husky breakfast" is AWESOME...
  13. Wow... !! I didn't realize Corbin was THAT much better than the Yellowjackets. You couldn't tell it from the Wazoo replay of the game between the two... :sssh:
  14. One thing for sure, Sheldon Clark has absolutely nothing to lose in this one. They've already exceeded most of their fan's expectations. Anything more will be gravy. The Cardinals could be quite a handful if the players are in the right mindset. :sssh:
  15. Don't get off kilter here. It was mentioned that Matney is using the disrespect card in prepping for Friday. The accusation of HHS players "overlooking" Central comes from NOWHERE else but JC's coach. OTOH, I think it's safe to say select HHS fans could be doing just that.
  16. The only schools I'm aware of that "disrespect" HHS' legacy are those of the GCL. HHS needs a couple wins over those guys to stop that.
  17. It's very difficult to get an idea of how these two teams really match up. Judging from what I've read here and stats on Riherds, this Corbin team sounds as though it plays the same style of football as the Corbin teams of 20 yrs. ago. That is to say they come straight at you and pass only enough to make the safeties think about it. Prestonsburg runs inside and outside in equal measure and typically throws 10-15 times/game. It really is a balanced offense. I'd love to get a little input from some football-smart Middlesboro fans (we've heard from Bath Co.) about how they see this matchup... You there, southeast_bell ?? :sssh:
  18. Hmmm... I figured there's be one or two Ashland stragglers left in the football forum to follow Raceland. :sssh:
  19. 7 - Boyle Co. 5 - Monroe Co. 3 - AC-S 2 - Bullitt East 1 - Raceland TB - Raceland
  20. Reminds me of something my dad used to say..."It only costs twice as much to go first class". Nice to have $$$, for sure. :thumb:
  21. Yeah, I think Estill Co. has it wrapped up, too...
  22. No...WKY Stadium also has an artificial surface. Just stick to a "slick" football.
  23. Estill Co. Boyle Co. Scott Co. Raceland Monroe Co. Boone Co. Prestonsburg Bullitt East Christian Co. John Hardin TB - 54
  24. FWIW, I believe this thread should have been locked by now...
