  1. Argentina is good, but holy cow have they been lucky. Easier draws, VAR shenanigans… a lot breaking their way.
  2. You know Tackett is spewing nonsense anytime he’s talking. He refuses to go away.
  3. When that happened on the standing around, that was when I knew we were well and truly cooked. They did not meet the moment. The last goal would get a healthy amount of hate too if not for the third goal gaffe. Which legitimately in all these years of watching soccer, I don’t know if I’ve seen a worse error by a US keeper.
  4. Also, Pulisic is glass.
  5. Holy cow. Absolute garbage.
  6. Well it was exciting for two minutes.
  7. We look terrible.
  8. While I agree it’s shady, Belgium is making such a big deal it’s making them look weak. I think there’s a psychological edge. And if Balogun scores, I expect they’d about fall to pieces.
  9. While I think Belgium has a legitimate grievance about the timing of the decision to reinstate Balogun, I also feel they've made themselves look weak and scared in their response. Most competitors want to go against the other team full strength, and certainly don't want to make it look like they're worried about an individual player tipping the scales.
  10. The England/Mexico game may be the most compelling game I've ever watched. Incredible match.
  11. I continue to hope against hope that this particular Arbiter look is not what they're relying on. One of my favorite things about Arbiter? You go into a team's schedule, click on their opponent. Do you get taken to said opponent's page? Don't be silly! It takes you to a page showing the Game Details and the location of the game (admittedly, that part I like). But surely you can then click on the opponent from there? No sir!
  12. I'm told that South Warren only trailed at any point in only two games this year. Madison Central was very, very close to taking them down, but South completes possibly the most dominant season in the history of the sport in Kentucky. They outscored their opponents 100-3 in the postseason. One team (Madison Central) scored even one run on them during the postseason.
  13. A complete miscarriage of justice that threatens to bury the entire sport, and indeed all of college athletics. I believe it is that dire.
  14. For most part, I think it’s been fantastic. Adds another interesting element and it really doesn’t take long at all. About the only downside has been the fun times where an ump has decided he’ll just ignore the person challenging and then claim it was too long. I feel like I don’t remember a single ejection so far this season for balls and strikes and that alone saves time and grief.
  15. The Spurs are just the third team ever to lose the first two at home in the NBA Finals, and neither of the other two (93 Suns, 95 Magic) came back and won the series.
  16. Meanwhile the KHSAA says "We've tried nothing, and we're all out of ideas!"
  17. Absolutely. Warren East/Bowling Green was a strong rivalry in their own right for a long time. The first 29 years Warren East was a school, the two teams combined for 13 region titles and 7 runners-up finishes, and four state semifinal appearances. Warren East actually led the head to head between the two 41-36 at the conclusion of that season, with Bowling Green having won the last meeting in the district tournament. That win was the first of a current 57 game win streak by Bowling Green in the series. In the 70s in particular , East was a force of nature.
  18. I feel the Spurs will win but I’m rooting for the Knicks. It has been long enough for them to have not won.
  19. Bowling Green and Warren Central have combined for 39 region titles, and 24 of those have come in the last 25 years. In the last 25 years, they have between them three state titles, four state runners-up, and 11 final fours. They've met in 13 region finals and played an additional three elimination games during the district tournament during that span. The teams are 32-32 against each other in the last 64 meetings. They've combined to win the last thirty 14th District titles, and that's in a district that is not easy to win (other teams in the district during that span have combined for two region titles and three runners-up). There have been times that the rivalry has probably risen to the standard of hate, but honestly, there's more of a respect between the two, and the knowledge that generally, one will have to go through the other to win the region. Only eight of the last 24 years have seen them not play each other in an elimination game, and the winner of that game won region 15 of the 16 times they did. There are other teams and rivalries that this statement applies to as well, but you can't talk seriously about basketball in Kentucky without talking about these two teams.
  20. The new proposal is for full sharing of local television revenue. So there's at least that. I believe a salary floor is an absolute must in that or pretty much any case, because there needs to be something to prevent certain bad faith ownership teams from simply pocketing the revenue (for instance, the Marlins). The MLBPA proposal calls for that as well, though with a different name. But for full competitive balance, I believe a cap is required.
  21. I personally believe we won't have MLB in 2027.
  22. Third consecutive district title for Greenwood. They only made one region between their district title in 2013 and the start of the current run but they have found their footing. Next goal is first region title since their 2002 win.
  23. Doggone it, I completely forgot this was happening.
  24. I’m hearing whispers of Shawn Savage. Former Purple player and assistant, currently head coach at Bowling Green Junior High.
  25. I agree, interim doesn't indicate a lot of faith. Ironically, the person I think of first when I hear interim is Kevin Wallace at Bowling Green. His first year was under the interim tag due to a lot of controversy that came about after Dan Haley stepped down following the 1995 state championship. Coach Wallace led the team to an 11-1 record and second round finish in 1996, and they removed the tag. But he went on to become the longest tenured and winningest coach in the school's history. He has more than double the amount of wins as any other coach, and his .861 win percentage is the highest by .078 (so a lot). Interim worked out well there.
