  1. The Eagles likely left themselves open to a malpractice lawsuit. Similar to several years back when Tyrod Taylor had a problem with a doctor collapsing his lung with an injection. Jalen could very well have died with the risks that were taken. The doctors told him not to go to sleep, and he was awake 36 hours before his last game he played. Can't sleep, but can play!

  9. Right now, looks like Manual probably gets the winner of Oldham County/North Hardin in the second round. Presumably they'll get past that game, and then they'd face maybe.... Henderson County? Maybe McCracken County? Manual has had their problems in the playoffs, but it's not as if either Henderson County or McCracken are known for their success rates in the third round either. I think Manual gets to the state semis this year. I think they've got a strong shot at the state finals, so long as Madison Central doesn't lose before the semis, making them face Trinity in the semis instead.
  10. That McCracken result was great news for Trinity, as it makes the likelihood of hosting a third round game much higher - a virtual certainty. It was terrible news for South Warren, who will need Manual to stumble prior to the third round to avoid having to travel to Trinity in the region final round. It's the exact opposite of last year when their top RPI kept them away from the monsters until the finals. This year they've been steered straight into the path of the death star.
  11. I get it, and for me personally, I don’t mind the return to 2 teams making it. I just feel that for the general populace, they’re not going back to that with larger classes. I do think some/many would accept it in the current setup we have. I know we’re all just discussing things that will never happen anyway, but I genuinely never see them going back to fewer teams making the postseason.
  12. If Kentucky beats Vandy and Tennessee beats South Carolina, could we potentially see a top ten matchup in Knoxville in three weeks? That would be biggest Kentucky game since….?
  13. The reason I never get optimistic about my teams unless they're VERY good is because of things like what just happened in FSU/Miami game. At no point did I start thinking "man, we've got this", even when FSU led going to Miami's part of the first overtime. I wouldn't let myself. And it's because of that thinking that I'm not soooooo much more mad about a terrible hold call that erased a miracle 4th and 21 touchdown that would have given them a chance to tie on a two point conversion, or what I consider an iffy INT and not a simultaneous possession on the game ender, which would have ALSO been a miracle (4th and 31 at that point). Still, that was a real kick in the balls. In a rivalry series rife with them.
  14. That would change it to only two qualifiers from each district. I would estimate that as a complete non-starter at this point.
  15. How about reduce to five classes, let 32 stay in 6A, and divide the rest equally? About 48 schools per class, six teams in most districts outside 6A? That's the same effect as 16 teams apiece in 1A and 6A and keeping four other classes, without the headache of two 16 team classes that would have one fewer week of playoffs.
  16. 1992 was last time Franklin-Simpson didn’t go to postseason. It’s the only time they’ve missed since the expansion to four teams advancing from each district. They’ll face Allen County-Scottsville needing a win to avoid their first winless district slate since 1959.
  17. If last year's Greenwood team were playing this Bowling Green team, then I'd give them a solid shot. They nearly had them last year before faltering. Unfortunately, it's a bit of classic Greenwood luck, that in some times when Bowling Green is down, Greenwood is likewise down.
