The Colonels have the best blocking WR’s in the state….

My Colonels run more of a double wildcat with that two-headed monster of Harney & Geiser. And that will be the difference maker. If you stop 1, the other absolutely guts you. With the Colonels playing lights out on both sides of the line, and an early season schedule gauntlet to prepare them for this gauntlet to a state title, I got My Colonels 31-26 and advancing. This will easily be the game of the night in the state of KY. Go Colonels!!

At Boyle County is what it should be for the Colonels next…..very winnable….save that for the game thread. Hat’s off for dang sure to JC as they gave us all we could handle…..safe to say you can certainly see where our brutal schedule is paying off…..

I agree as I cannot wait to see Courtney and Myers suit up this year as their physical and game development as simply exploded. Prior to football you still have: McGillis(this years upcoming 9th Region POY) Myrick(arguably one of the top if not best shooters/3Ballers in the 9th Region Stava a Junior and starter last year who will be a defensive beast and be the utility knife who can do it all Brecount a 6-8 Jr Center who has had a monster off season who should have a Neil Green effect on this roster that Neil had when He hit the starting lineup as a Jr. Only question is, until the Pigskin guys come back, who is that 5th starter? And when you look at all the non-seniors on the roster, footballers included, along with the freshman class that’s coming in, that is absolutely loaded, the cupboard is mighty stocked for the next few years.

When you see it on paper like that, it’s no doubt the Colonels are the best JV Team in NKy. I also agree on the earlier take, that JV results are always with a grain of salt. Go Colonels!!

The line play on both sides of the ball for the Colonels was a clinic. Johnny Lind #57, a Junior OT and DE was a nightmare all night long on Defense. They had zero answer for Him. He had a far greater impact on the game by a country mile than Fryman did……and again, Fryman is an absolute stud no question or debate about it. Lind is on another level and next year will be a cheat code. Charlie Reeves the other DE straight played His butt off as well. Beechwood returns a ton as does CCH with Dylan Courtney waiting in the wings to take over, but losing the majority of our skill players will make next years game very interesting. For now, the Colonels brought domination to Ft. Mitchell tonight and earned a win. Always a good game and great atmosphere and cannot wait until next year. Go Colonels!

Anyone saying otherwise would be a fool. Kid is way beyond legit. I just think Queen will be harassed too much by CCH winning the trenches thereby nullifying the overall impact Fryman can have on Offense…..CCH is better in the trenches, on Defense, and has an overall better QB and ground game so I just see CCH winning by 2 TD’s or more And Fryman has another year. Gonna be even more wow next year.

Queen is not mobile at all with no speed and quickness of any kind. He has a cannon, a rocket launcher for an arm, and is big-bodied, but has about one read in Him before bad decision making/panic sets in……especially when faced with a superior rush. Queen has not faced a D-Line like He will in CCH’s especially with Johnny Lind being a problem for Elder and Ryle…..Beechwood’s OLine and DLine cannot stack up to what CCH has in their trenches. Lind is rolling and that opens up the entire D for CCH. Beechwood has elite speed at the skills, but CCH has speed all over the back of the D and the offensive skills, but is a world better on both sides of the line. Games are always won in the trenches and Lind and Company, especially on Defense, will wreak havoc, especially motivated by playing against a former teammate, and they will take over the game. Should be a good one, with CCH dominating upfront and winning by 2 scores or more.

Those last 2 bolded points cannot be over stated enough…..that change on D is going to wreak havoc and the passing game for the next 2 years with Courtney at the helm will be a nightmare to defend……well said here

That’s a great schedule. Not as tough as last year’s, but participating in KOTB tourney gives them a great challenge and gauge for where they are. Any thoughts on the pre-football starting 5? Too easy to predict when the football dudes fully fold in. My take: Stava - G Myrick - G McGilis - G Brecourt - C Who is the 5th starter?

Anyone have word on Colonels Brooks, Payne, and Robinson…..all starters who missed the Elder game….will any be back tonight?

Has anyone heard if we will get Zach Brooks, Jackson Payne, or Landon Robinson back for this game…..key pieces is an understatement….although next man up was on full display in the Pit as I thought guys stepped up huge on a monster stage…..

As a Die Hard Colonel I would totally agree with this. However, if there was a Colonel Team that could go into the Pit and pull out a W, it would be this Colonel team. I would also say no one on the West Side is taking this game or this team lightly by any stretch either.

This is looney tunes. A team that returns most of the starters who went to Boyle County and won is gonna go 1-7. Disrespect was used in an earlier description of this, but I will say nonsensical and ridiculous to be very kind about it and move on

Whoops…..you are correct on that one. My bad. He filled in the last two seasons when Courtney was injured, and despite not having experience, Link played outstanding.

Dylan Courtney is a soph and currently a backup varsity QB (not sure if he is QB2 or QB3, as I know Jackson Payne is still in the mix, so some clarity here from anyone would be great) and Aiden Link is another soph who has played QB and is very good, but Courtney is the future of Cov Cath at QB. Did any Freshman play and if so any standouts?

Correct. I have been down there to see him work out as my son works out there and I saw him play summer hoops and Harney is by far noticeably faster, quicker, and more twitchy all while gaining more noticeable muscle mass…..If you thought Harney was a problem last year…..wow.

That’s a tough call as Listerman and Vinson from Highlands are uber talented……are they better than Bradshaw, Stava, and the new CCH Kid, Myrick I think? Because McGillis and Harney are the 2 best players on that floor…..maybe any floor….

Griffin Starks now gone at Newport…..headed to Prep School in Florida. Newport has been wiped out. Is Highlands, with all starters returning the only threat to CCH this year? Saw the Colones twice in Summer ball and of course there is Harney and All-World McGillis, but Stava is going to be a major problem as He is the next in a long line of defensive stoppers that will shut everyone down. And His ball skills and penetration skills have blown up, but He was also taking advantage of the fact that Harney and McGillis draw all the defensive attention and He just feasted offensively in both games because teams are sleeping on that stud. The new kid, Myrick I think, can shoot the lights out wow!!! And Cash Meyers, a Sophomore, and football stud, with His ball handling, penetration, confidence, speed and football body & toughness at 6’3 and still growing will be a matchup nightmare for the next 3 years.

Saftey’s: Harney and Geiser Sleepers: no clue….maybe the sophomore Link and maybe VanAuken the sophomore RB…..I would love to say Charlie’s Reeves, but I doubt anyone is sleeping on Him. anyone else?!?! GO COLONELS!!

Now that we are in the Dead Period, opening night is right around the corner…..before The Boys return to practice and kick it off for real, anyone want to take a crack at the starters on both sides of the ball? And who would be the 1-2 biggest sleepers on both sides?
