One word does me in…..the newness has worn off. Welcome to 4A I guess.?

I know even less about 4A then these 2 fine gentlemen other than Boyle, Corbin, and JC…..I am also fairly certain it will not stop me from complaining either. What I will add is our JV and Freshmen teams were loaded last year. (I believe JV only gave up 9 points all year). Our varsity was young outside of the trenches last year as we return our entire back 7 on D and every skill player on O. If some of that JV talent can matriculate to the varsity level we will be hard to stop and hard to score on. And yes, easily our best team in the last couple of years as the aforementioned 6’4 240lbs Power 5 TE Willie Rodriguez holds 19 D1 college offers and just wrapped a 5th place finish in the state heavyweight wrestling division. He catches everything and blocks & tackles everyone. And if 6’5 returning QB Evan Pitzer can take the next step as He has every year, we can easily make a return to Commonwealth Stadium in December. Games are won and lost in the trenches and that will never ever be more true than at CCH this year. To wrap it, if you come out to see us play, I would key on our LB core as I am sure @UKato91 will agree, they are going to be way beyond special and fun as a group this year. Cannot wait until August…..Go Colonels!

According to @UKato91 in a post in the Beechwood score thread, and I always trust Him implicitly, Hussey turned an ankle in practice but should be good to go.

Any word on why and if in fact he will be back? Big loss right there.

I am moving on as it was just such a tremendous game with all you want in a High School hoops night from the pre-game to the final buzzer. Nights like this is why kids lace’em up. Someone has to win and someone has to lose. We have all been both and will be again down the road. Congrats to all involved. What. A. Night.

This right here is it. I was in the middle behind both benches and HC straight up lost by making mistakes and getting out lolayed. A football game is a great way to sum up this game and to put an exclamation point on just how well ref’d it was and how much those refs let them play as they should.

Who cares about Avatars and have more respect for the game, the effort, the players, the result, the refs themselves, and yourself for that matter and stop blaming the refs when every little thing does not go your way. Strive to be a bit better than that.

I was there and HC got outplayed by a team that wanted it more and has been rolling lately. Meyer is at another level, but good god He gets more than His fair share of calls. Enough with blaming refs for every little thing. Refs don’t lose games. The Cru won that game tonight as they straight got after it. It was a spectacular game. One of the best I have seen in a long long time. Just wow….

Not a chance. I said in the Newport/St. Henry thread after The Cru hung with Newport and nearly ran Great Crossing, that the Cru were a team no one will want any part of. And tonight they showed that and then some. Enough with refs and the greatness of one player because one player a team never makes and that was shown tonight…… “Used against Him” is just plain wrong. That is a laughable narrative. The Cru with an insane team effort with zero help from refs and where they just wanted it more and out played another team and were better all the way around tonight. The Cru straight up won this game end of story. Any other narrative is completely disrespectful to their effort and hard work tonight and their climb they have been on recently in their grit and attitude. St. Henry is a team no one in this region should want any part of right now. I mean what a come back at the High School level. This is the kind of stuff that everyone should celebrate. Cru nation you should be proud tonight.

I was at the Great Crossing game where St. Henry outplayed and very nearly ran a top 5 team in the state off the floor. St. Henry down 11 came back and tied them late and for a better part of the game were the better team on the floor. Unsure of their names, but #’s 4, 12, and especially #40 who put the Cru on His back, should be proud of themselves. St. Henry will beat Lloyd in districts. And that may not be their only upset. I would not want to play The Cru at the moment.

Yes, Eviston does teach. And I agree that He has to be the favorite for both. I would imagine The Beechwood is the favorite for Him as He could have 20-25 years of success at that school for sure. This would put a whole new spin on the CCH/Beechwood rivalry for sure…..especially over the next few years.

I would say this is pretty much categorically wrong that we are spoiled or waiting for another Mayer Savior especially since one player does not make a program. We have numerous dominant state titles without a Mayer or Eddie and that will only continue. The future of Colonel Football is outstandingly bright…..and that is with Eddie at the helm or not. I hope He stays for a long long long and state Championship filled tenure as do 99.9999%toinfinity of the Colonel faithful. The reason Our future is so bright is because of our fantastic community and commitment by everyone in it to do all they can to ensure that it produces academically, spiritually, morally, socially, and athletically. It all starts with our grade schools & CYF(Colonel Youth Football) and concludes on graduation day with everyone involved along the way to ensure the young Men who come through are better for it. Thanks to the Mayers for sure as they have given the young men that follow them a road map to being outstanding well-rounded Students, Athletes, and Alumni. Our Program is in the best hands no matter who is standing on those sidelines. That is the beauty of Cov. Cath. The Brotherhood thrives!!! Eddie has been and will be spectacular and has a talent rich current team and a straight up loaded pipeline in the CYF. It’s on. Always a good day to be a Colonel. GO COLONELS.

Couple of things: 1. Anyone have an update on the schedule or timetable of its release? 2. On Instagram @CovCathStrength has a fantastic update on the off-season workouts and a lot of names mentioned in this thread are excelling right now in those workouts. Apparently they are doing something points based and Andrew Bessler(LB & RB) is in the lead. Just something kind of cool to keep things interesting until August. Go Colonels!!!

Brett Dietz was a helluva QB at Cov. Cath. and I believe in the Arena Football league(I know it’s one of those type of leagues, but not 100% sure), but I am completely unfamiliar with His coaching career….. It would be nice for a CCH guy to eventually Coach…..getting way ahead of myself here, but some time down the road I could absolutely see AJ Mayer filling that role on a very long term and successful tenure……that’s for another thread about a decade from now.

CCH’s Eviston has to be at or near the top of the list. If so, does anything keep Him from taking the Moeller Job and staying at CCH? I would doubt it…. The potential speculation thread on a new Cov. Cath. Head Football Coach would be a doozie!!! Happy Friday and Go Colonels!

You are absolutely on point and guilty as charged Your Honor…..self imposed punishment is to enjoy the rest of the year as it will be over way to fast and the Seniors will be gone. And I can only guess that the players are not at all as nuts as we are about it. Great players are too present to worry about it and all mentioned are truly great players.

I appreciate the knowledge. It just goes back to the most complete player statement, which Ipsaro is. He does not get shut down, He leads, He rebounds, He locks down, He passes with a court vision that is the best in the state in that category alone and He wins. Ipsaro wins games, big games against all the other players in the discussion for the award. He runs the show in a highly complex offensive and defensive scheme where He is expected to facilitate and He still dominates the scoring offensively. He is hands down the best player in the state. Ultimately it’s all just opinion from all of us, but I am beyond comfortable with my opinion based on all Ipsaro has done this year from an individual, team, and win perspective that He is the best in the state, period.
