Solid result for Beechwood, they will be a solid opponent for someone next week -- don't sleep on the Tigers.

Pretty good showing from the Tigers.

? 35th District All-Tournament Team ~

Mark McCutchin, Holmes

Jacob Meyer, Holy Cross

Cameron Boyd, Beechwood

Mattox Kelly, Beechwood

Aiden Jones, Covington Catholic

Kascyl McGillis, Covington Catholic

MVP - Evan Ipsaro, Covington Catholic

Beechwood is scrappy. They get after it and aren’t afraid to bang anywhere on the floor.

They came out the gates firing from beyond the arc and connecting. I think they are playing good basketball at the right time.

As for the Colonels, it was discouraging to see them allowing BW back into the game on quite a few runs.

Ipsaro from 15 ft is special. Maybe the best I’ve ever seen at this level.

Colonels going to have to play much better basketball to get out of the region. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Beechwood upsets a 1 seed in the first round.

Tis the season! Survive and advance.

Honorable Mention to Sullivan for Beechwood with the shot of the year!!  Kudos young man, sorry you don't get a plaque for this post, but you have a memory and a story you'll never forget.

Career high for freshman Wermuth.

Tigers can be very good over the next 2-3 years. Impressive young players.

CCH 2nd leading scorer Brady Hussey did not play in either District game. They certainly need to get him back.

Any word on why and if in fact he will be back? Big loss right there.

Did not expect this one to be so close.

Talking about players missing reminds me that Beechwood is playing without Cash Harney. That is a huge loss for them and makes this Tigers tournament performance even more impressive.

I get that. We all know Cash had surgery. This is strictly a CCH comment as Hussey is their 2nd best player and will be their leader next year.
