Owen County’s Teagan Moore breaks 8th Region scoring record

Featured Replies

Moore passed Williamstown’s Freddie Hale’s record of 3233 points which stood for 50 years.
The record fell with a minute remaining during Owen’s 67-49 victory over Trimble County.
The game was stopped and Hale, who was in attendance, was escorted to the court to present the game ball to Moore and pose for a photo.

Well done!  Truly astonishing!

That is so beyond cool.  Way to get it done and make High School Hoops even more special than it already is.  Congrats to all involved in this and to Moore for breakin’ the record.

Congratulations Mr. Moore... I've watched this young man ever since 8th grade and you could tell then he was going to be special. Has always played with class and the right way.

Unreal.

Was the previous record holder any relation to the Fred Hale that used to run youth/AAU basketball tournaments in the Louisville area?

❓

@SnottieDrippen?

It would make sense, as he attended UofL following graduation, but that’s little more than a guess. I’ll dig around.
