  1. Per Evan Dennison article on LinkNKY Hicks said the job opening was posted on Friday and he’s already received a strong set of applicants. He said the plan is to start the interviewing process with a committee after the high school’s Spring Break that runs April 8-13. “It’s a great job to have,” Hicks said. “We’ve already had some great candidates that applied and it will be a fun ride to keep this tradition going. https://linknky.com/sports/basketball/2024/03/25/conner-boys-basketball-coach-steps-down/
  2. Think this rings true at majority of HS.
  3. @The Double Deuce I wondered the same. I know they had an event in 2019 at NKU…maybe scheduling conflicts. Also could be scheduling conflicts at Thomas More but would be curious to know the numbers capacity wise of Thomas More and Griffin Elite. Regardless…sounds like it’s going to be a great event! Can’t wait to attend.
  4. Since I kinda got the train of the tracks…I’m going to do my best to get it back on! Went thru and read the old post and took some names that people mentioned that sounded interesting and would like to hear others opinion. Joe Wynn- Current HC at Mason Co Alex Shelton- Current Special Teams Coordinator/DB Coach at Cov Cath Bob Black- Has been involved with Scott Football since it’s inception and Current Woodland Coach Terry Durstock- Current Special Teams Coordinator at Scott Matt Luken- Current O-Line Coach at Scott The last three have been involved in the TM Eagles, Woodland, and Scott programs. Another name I saw on that list was Dan Woolley…don’t know if he comes back or not but he did have success at Scott. Obviously if you can get a Noel Rash or Jeff Marksberry…that’s a home run!
  5. I know Kinney is getting TONS of interest (rightfully so!) but is there anyone else on this roster that has offers from D1’s? Definitely think they have a few that could play at the next level!
  6. Attended the Cov Cath game last year! Great game til Cov Cath took over in the 4th. Will have to check them out when they come to Cintas!
  7. 100% I apologize for leaving him out of my post. He was tremendous last year as a Sophomore!
  8. That’s fair. I think we all can agree then that they all need improvement and it’s not just a singular schools problem that a lot of people think it is.
  9. Walton vs Simon Kenton will be a great game (maybe two games) once again this year. Jay Bilton (SK) is a great talent. Took a major step last year, expecting another great season from him as well as Krohman. The Dixon kid (WV) is and has been an all region player…expect more of the same this year. I am interested to see the preview in a few weeks!
  10. Fantastic job on the review! @brooksville If you had to pick the 2 teams in the final today, who would it be and why? Rate the Mason County Popcorn 1-10.
  11. So you’re telling me it’s not just a Scott thing…right?
  12. I don’t think anyone at a KCSD HS would want to remember last year as the School Report Card were released today with Scott and Simon Kenton being rated a Yellow (third lowest tier) and Dixie being rated Orange (second lowest tier) https://www.kenton.kyschools.us/all-kcsd-news/post-detail/~board/kenton-county-school-district/post/kde-release-2022-23-school-report-card-data As for athletics, Scott moving to 5A hurts tremendously for football. But the athletic department has had their fair share of success within the past decade including the football team in 4A.
  13. Absolutely…as all schools go thru them.
  14. If I can remember correctly KCSD tried to eliminate open enrollment and redraw some sort of district lines a few years back for their respective high schools and that was met with major resistance from the people of Independence. But to say Scott High is at their worst point EVER is a fallacy
