  2. Good quality win for the Wildcats. Their offense is explosive when their O-line gives Wease time. Good luck the rest of the way. Looks like 3A first district is not just a two team race. Murray looked winded in the 4th quarter. Their lack of depth is a huge concern moving forward. Most of the starters don't come off the field on either side of the ball. They did rush for 400+ yards and controlled the clock, buy man... the secondary was exposed! Congrats again to Trigg. It doesn't get any easier for the Tigers. They will get Union Co next week at home.
  3. I remember saying that PT was going to be good in a couple of years... That Junior class has lived up to expectations so far. They are re-creating a winning culture and should be really good the next several years. With that being said... Mayfield is the standard, regardless of class, in Western KY. Their defense seems to be clicking on all cylinders. Mayfield 24 Paducah 14

  5. Forgot to mention: BG with running clock... Purples name the score.
  6. As mentioned before, there are three middle schools that feed into McCracken Co HS: Lone Oak, Heath, and Reidland, respectively. They currently do combine the three schools to form 1 middle school program. Personally, I think this is a mistake! I think they would get more kids out to play if their own MS would have a team. I'm sure many do not participate for the simple logistics of it. Drive from Heath to Lone Oak is about 20 min one way. Reidland to Lone Oak is about the same. I'm sure parents don't have the flexibility to drive kids around everyday. I'm sure MCC is saving money by not having the additional expenses. I just believe they are shooting themselves in the foot. Although, the brand new turf field at Lone Oak middle school it top notch!! They currently have okay numbers in their middle school teams around 40 kids on each team (7th & 8th). I just believe those numbers should double to feed a 6A team.
  7. Interesting article and point! I have friends down in the Houston area that coach at the HS level. It's rare you'll find a grass field down there. Several of those schools use a "turf shoe". Kind of like an indoor soccer shoe. Small, soft cleats that still give you the grip you need but doesn't stick like normal cleats. When it rains, they do use normal cleats. Just a thought.
  8. I think this is the same schedule Mayfield has had for a couple years. Great for RPI with higher class schools on the schedule. I imagine PT has had this game circled for a couple seasons. Their standout junior class is talented and they are followed by several really good classes. Although, Big Red always seems to have an answer at the right time. Game is at War Memorial and I think that is a factor. Only other game on their schedule that could give them issues is Murray but they have to answer many questions between now and then. 10-0, 9-1 seems about right.
  9. I'm sure the family moved into district and thus, the transfer. Timing is odd considering the school year is about over. The rich get richer!
  10. Personally, I would love to see the St. X game towards the end of the season as teams get situated and improve. No disrespect, but playing the Daviess Co schools and their district doesn't really prepare them for the gauntlet that is 5A in the playoffs. I guess they only have 1 "pick-up" game a year and, if so, they did a great job scheduling the Tigers.
  11. So much for the Racers & the Wildcats in the 2nd round 🤣🤣
  12. Good defensive play from the Marshalls. Murray is still missing Lincoln English in the post due to injury. He is a big body that anchors' the Tigers inside. Went down before Murray's All "A" run. He should be back before the district tourney.
  13. Great pick up for Coach Hood. The running game for the Racers seem to have a bright future. Murray State began running the ball more effectively since the inception of Coach Hood during last year's spring season. Can't wait to see them in the fall. Congrats!!
  14. Final. Tough shooting morning for the Warriors being held to a season low 45 points shooting 34.8% from the floor. This is a young team. I'm sure the will be back in the coming years. The Tiger's feisty sound defense proved to be the key. Center Zavion Carman (Soph) kept the seven footer (Ayiei 6pts) at bay the entire game. Led by seniors Trey Boggess (15 pts) and Caleb Gill (11 pts), Murray shot 47.5% for the game. Just when Danville Christian seemed to have a run in them, freshman Kobe Watson, 12 pts (4-6 3s) would come up with a timely three. Good luck to the Warriors on the rest of the season. Murray will play the winner of Pikeville vs Owensboro Catholic tomorrow @ 6 EST.
  15. I'm a bit late to the thread... I've received mixed words coming out of Mayfield. It has been said, more than once, Coach Morris was retiring and Coach Hatchell (OC) is next in line 🤫. Whether that happens this fall or in 5 years is still a mystery. Why five you ask... Coach Morris' youngest is in 7th grade.
  16. Have not seen/ heard any games played games this week by Graves Co or Mayfield. Both schools are being used as resource centers/ shelters.
  17. Mayfield HS is open for those needing shelter!! All historic buildings are gone: city hall, post office, churches. Still no power with no timeline on when it will come back. Hard to see this video. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 https://www.facebook.com/AndrewKozakTV/videos/281176890631647/?vh=e
  18. Murray hopes to end McCracken Co reign on region one. This is a good showing and start to the season. Muhlenberg Co is no push over. Good job Tigers!
  19. Xavier Brown looks to be a injured in some variety. Could affect the rest of the game.
