  1. Final from Crestwood. Dragons will rematch with North Oldham for the District Title on Friday.
  2. Wild season for Woodford. A few folks in the 8th region thread picked Woodford to win it.
  3. Oldham County has been playing good ball as of late. This a huge win for Gallatin County and should give them confidence as we get closer to post season.
  4. I am referring to a young man playing in the 8th region. Fits the exact bill you’re referencing (3rd school, Junior). I also know he played middle school ball at a different school than he started high school at. Agreed there needs to be some kind of regulation.
  5. And 2 of the 3 are ranked 1 and 2 in the region currently.
  6. What exceptions are there? It is my understanding the athlete has had no change of residency.
  7. Can someone fill me in on the rules of midseason transfers? I’ve just noticed that a player in the region I follow started the season at one school, and logged varsity minutes, is now playing at a different school in the same district on varsity. I think this is the first time I have seen this.
  8. Oldham County has absolutely turned their season around. Unfortunately they play in the hardest district to get out of in the 8th region. I’m still not sure if they have enough to take down South Oldham or North Oldham. But it is definitely not a shoo in as previously thought.
  9. The 2024 edition of South Oldham put together an under the radar solid season. They were a last second TD away from a district title in a very tough district. They battled 5A runner up Cooper for about 85% of the game. To put it lightly, in 2025 offensively the Dragons lose a lot. Graduation of Julian Miles and Ethan Arnold accounts for 1000 yards passing, almost 1200 yards on the ground and 600 yards receiving between the QB and Slot duo. The stats do not do this duo justice. By the end of the season these two young men WERE the South Oldham offense. 4/5 Offensive Lineman are gone to graduation and your number two receiver in Max Madsen. On the positive side, they return Fullback Kole Greenwell and Slot Evan Hickerson who have been major contributors offensively over the past two seasons. Hickerson battled injuries this past season and was limited but had a strong sophomore campaign in 2023. I expect Adrian Miles to get the start at QB where he was playing rotationally to start the year. Defensively there is much better outlook. The Dragons return 3/4 starting Defensive Lineman headlined by Louisville commit DL Sam Dawson who will be a 4 year starter. 3/4 Defensive Backs return and one inside linebacker. This team will without a doubt be built around tough defensive play. I expect the Dragons to overall take a slight step back from 2024 but will be competitive in most games they play. The overall team numbers are up in Crestwood and I think they are a couple years away from being a real factor in 5A.
  10. Will come back later with some info on the team but this is the schedule for next season. * denotes a district game Aug 9 vs. Frederick Douglass (Scrimmage) Aug 16 at East Jessamine (Scrimmage) Aug 22 vs. Meade County Aug 29 at Eastern Sep 5 at Tates Creek Sep 12 at North Oldham Sep 19 vs. Oldham County Sep 26 at Anderson County * Oct 3 at Woodford County * Oct 10 vs. Scott County * Oct 17 - BYE Oct 24 vs. Collins * Oct 31 vs. Corbin New additions include Meade County, Eastern, Tates Creek, and Corbin. Tough schedule on paper but necessary for a 5A program trying to take the next step.
  11. South Oldham beat the brakes off Grant County last night 77-37. I think this is Steve Simpson’s best team in a long time.
  12. Final from Owenton. Dragons easily handle 8th region foe Owen County on the road.
  13. Announcing transfers in high school now? What is this era.
  14. Get ready to watch the triple option. Will be interesting to see how it translates to big boy football. Probably tougher to “wear down” teams in 6A when they don’t have many players going both ways.
  15. Just announced on Twitter. Coach Reed was the head coach at rival South Oldham for 13 years. He had a very successful tenure reaching the 5A Semi Final twice and regional finals many years. I’m sure this will go over well in the county..
  16. Well I stand corrected. Coach Jamie Reed is the new head coach at Oldham County High School.
  17. I like the timing of the hire: get him in just before off season weightlifting begins. The cupboard is obviously not bare at SK and I think coach Wynn can win right away. I look forward to seeing what he can do in the fall.
  18. Tried going to work. Got some stuff done, looked out the window, and checked out. Not about to get stuck in an office.
  19. What time can we expect all of this to arrive. I’m in the Lexington area.
  20. Possibly 1 inch of ice? Is this real life.
  21. I think you’re really happy with this if you’re an OC fan. Not sure what happened for SK. Must’ve been a horrific shooting night.
  22. I just don’t love the offensive style they run at all. There is talent on this T team but my goodness they are ROUGH offensively. 40% from the field on the year and 27% from 3. Not a good recipe for winning games.
