Maybe not consistently, but their style of offense has allowed them to be there plenty. Same can be said for Bell County and Belfry. So, in speaking of teams getting to Kroger Field consistently, who would you say those are? Trinity, Beechwood, CAL and who else? Maybe Bowling Green and Boyle County also? Only 12 teams make it Kroger Field every year and there are over 200 teams that play football in Kentucky, so I'm just curious who you consider to be the teams on a "regular basis".

Just playing devil's advocate here, but how do you explain teams like Scott County and Johnson Central then?

I had a feeling we would see a nice bounce back effort by Boyle County after their disappointing loss to LexCath & despite being fairly banged up. I can’t remember the last time Boyle County had lost 2 games in a row.

Jacob Savage & Ja’Hyde Brown were absolutely the best players on the field tonight & proved why they are future FBS P4 players. If Ryle can find a way to get Savage a few more breathers during games, they’ll be very tough to contend with down the stretch.

I enjoyed it as well. Great food & great company. @theguruwas correct. Smokin This & That BBQ was excellent & the owner obviously believes in giving back. They were having a benefit for veterans when we were there tonight. I absolutely love that!

This is absolutely correct. They would have to be healthy, but if they are, they could hang with & even possibly beat T and X. If they aren’t healthy, then it would simply be a numbers game & they would get worn down with so many going both sides of the ball & special teams.

Agreed. There is still a large gap between BE and the other two Bullitt County schools. BE should win 4 of their next 5 for sure. I'm thinking they'll finish the regular season 6-4 and then probably matchup with North Hardin in the 1st round of the playoffs.

Crazy to think that he didn't even start at CAL last year as, technically per the KHSAA, a sophomore. He's a reclass, but this is actually his 3rd year of HS ball.

He’s a great, young coach. He was the head coach for my son’s 7th grade KY Future Stars team back in 2019. All the kids loved playing for him. He had just been named the head coach at Atherton just a month prior & you just knew he was going to have a big impact on that program.

If you look at their stats report, most of their roster that is actually playing on Friday nights are seniors. There are only a handful of juniors, and I think one sophomore, so it looks like they will be inexperienced again next year, which doesn't bode well.

CAL doesn't have the numbers like Trinity and St. X do. I think people tend to forget that. CAL only has 55 players in the program total and only 25 suited up for JV yesterday. There are a couple of 2nd string JV kids, but definitely no 3rd string JV. In addition, CAL doesn't even have a freshman team. They only have a JV team. There are only 13 players in the freshman class this year, which is fairly common for them. 8 of the 13 freshmen start JV.

Scott was a fill in due to a cancellation. We just appreciate them being willing to take the game & travel 1:45 to play.

In speaking with the CAL broadcast team last Friday, I believe they will be also live again on Livesportscaster.com and it will be audio and video this week. Is so, I will post a link later this week when available.

I don't understand how me refuting a false statement is being "so sensitive". I believe Murray to be a quality team with a lot of good athletes and based on sister districts, east vs. west RPI and schedule, I think they have a very good chance to reach the state finals b/c they have a good shot to avoid CAL, Lex Cath, etc. until the 4th round at the earliest. Now, if Lex Cath wins out, Murray stubs their toe and loses a game in the regular season, etc., RPI can change a lot and maybe Murray gets CAL in the 3rd round, which is possible. I never said Murray was the 2nd best team in 3A. I said I believe it will be a Murray vs. CAL state final and then list the reason(s) why. That is all.

It was me & that’s not exactly what I said, but why let facts get in the way of a good post. Anyway, here you go. Also for anyone else who would like to read my comments. I said I believe it would be a CAL vs Murray state final…..if RPI didn’t spoil it, then go on a bit later to mention why. The real winners in all of this is Bell County. The earliest they would see CAL, LexCath or Murray would be the 4th round whereas CAL & LexCath could meet as early as round 2, although unlikely. If you would like a tutorial on RPI & how it affects the playoffs beyond round 2, I’d be happy to teach you.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Boyle County this year. Basically, they've played 2 bad halves of football (2nd half against LCA and 1st half against LexCath). If they go out and get boat raced by Highlands this Friday, then you're probably right. However, I have a feeling they might right the ship Friday and be right back in the talk for 4A title contenders.

I believe they are sister districts, so there's a possibility, although unlikely, it could be as early as round 2 if Bardstown were to somehow beat LexCath and win the district. Outside of that, it will depend on RPI if it were to happen between rounds 3 and 5.

Basically, they have 2 D1 FBS kids who haven't played in the regular season yet. One might return this week and the other I don't expect the play. The team has rallied and played well in their absence, and I hope for that to continue on Friday.
