There is not much to say about Central Hardin Friday night at Warren East. This was an ugly game from the weather to the effort and final score, as the game was called with five minutes left in the 3rd quarter and the score 40-0.

This is probably the worst team Central Hardin has fielded in the 15 years I have been following them. I have faith in Lance Gregory turning this program around although it might take 2-3 years to get this team to be competitive.

As for North Hardin, they were outscored 21-0 in the second half vs Pulaski County and seemed to get worn down in the fourth quarter as the Maroons broke off big gains in their version of the ground and pound.

A key play in the game came in the fourth quarter. The Trojans stopped Pulaski County and forced a 4th and 3. Pulaski County brought their punt team onto the field which caused North Hardin to switch personnel, pulling Hope out for the punt team. After Josiah came to the sidelines, the Maroons switched their personnel to a short yardage package and successfully ran between the tackles for a first down.

Central Hardin will be outmatched in this game. Too much speed, athleticism, and size for the Bruins to handle in this one. Not sure I see a favorable matchup this season for the Bruins until the Meade County game in week eight.

My prediction: North Hardin 36 Central Hardin 7

That was a pretty horrific result for the Bruins and does nothing to inspire belief that this game will be anything other than one way traffic. Central should never be this bad.

Fortunately, it's still early-ish. There's time to make marginal improvements week to week and lay the groundwork for next season.

If you look at their stats report, most of their roster that is actually playing on Friday nights are seniors.  There are only a handful of juniors, and I think one sophomore, so it looks like they will be inexperienced again next year, which doesn't bode well.

This one is getting out of hand in the first half. Just when you think it can't get any worse.

Halftime,

North Hardin 30 Central Hardin 0
