3A is still CAL by about ten country miles and after Friday night LexCath looks heads and above the rest of the class.

When will CAL and LexCath meet in the playoffs?

I believe they are sister districts, so there's a possibility, although unlikely, it could be as early as round 2 if Bardstown were to somehow beat LexCath and win the district.  Outside of that, it will depend on RPI if it were to happen between rounds 3 and 5.

I like Round 5. ?

There was a guy on him last week that seemed to think Murray was a clear number 2. I wonder if he still feels this way after Lexington Catholic’s big win.

I would put Lex Cath at 2.  Their SOS has been better than Murray’s to date.  Very impressive win vs Boyle this past weekend.  Will Lex Cath win out??  They still have a couple of good opponents on their schedule.

It was me & that’s not exactly what I said, but why let facts get in the way of a good post.  Anyway, here you go.  Also for anyone else who would like to read my comments.  I said I believe it would be a CAL vs Murray state final…..if RPI didn’t spoil it, then go on a bit later to mention why.  The real winners in all of this is Bell County.  The earliest they would see CAL, LexCath or Murray would be the 4th round whereas CAL & LexCath could meet as early as round 2, although unlikely.  If you would like a tutorial on RPI & how it affects the playoffs beyond round 2, I’d be happy to teach you.

I have no feelings about how the RPI affects anything, It’s what we have to go by so it is what it is. I’m not as high on Murray as others I think they are a quality team but I think there are 6-8 teams in 3 A as good if not better than them. Could they reach state of course but so could a lot of other teams. Don’t be so sensitive I just pointed out that you seemed pretty convinced that Murray was the team to beat to get a chance to play Cal. I was just pointing out that if Lex Cath beat Boyle and that’s something Murray could never do.

Lex Cath has been Paired with Russell's district last couple year, or so I thought?

They have, but with the new alignment Catholic is now in District 4 with Bardstown, Casey, Garrard, and Mercer. That district is paired with the four Louisville schools from District 3 (CAL, Central, DeSales, Western).

I don't understand how me refuting a false statement is being "so sensitive".  I believe Murray to be a quality team with a lot of good athletes and based on sister districts, east vs. west RPI and schedule, I think they have a very good chance to reach the state finals b/c they have a good shot to avoid CAL, Lex Cath, etc. until the 4th round at the earliest.  Now, if Lex Cath wins out, Murray stubs their toe and loses a game in the regular season, etc., RPI can change a lot and maybe Murray gets CAL in the 3rd round, which is possible.  I never said Murray was the 2nd best team in 3A.  I said I believe it will be a Murray vs. CAL state final and then list the reason(s) why.  That is all.

I can’t see Murray with their schedule being high enough to avoid Cal in the third round. I think Murray probably needs to worry about Union Co because I don’t feel like it’s a certainty that they are the number one seed out of their district. Again not bashing Murray but they play such a weak schedule it’s just impossible to get a read on them.

Is there anyway we can see how the districts align for the playoffs? I searched on the KHSAA website but couldn't find anything. Probably was an operator error somewhere on my part.
