Why are they rebuilding in year four if things are moving in the right direction? How do you inherit a 9-3 program with over 70 players and 4 years later you have lost half your roster and 1-8? In the past they looked at this year as one of the best teams they were supposed to have in a while. This was in no way shape or form supposed to be rebuilding year. In 8 of the losses 5 were running clocks. What they didn't expect is that players in masses would decide not to play for this coaching staff. Tates Creek is 4-5 and put a running clock on them. Southwestern beat them by 23 and that is their only win of the season.

I understand what you are saying. Could number of players out make the decision for everyone? Mercer had over 70 players when Yeast took over and now in the low 30's. When he took over they had a freshmen and JV team. They did not have enough players to have a JV team this year at a 4A school the size of Mercer. Yeast isn't trying to rebuild from mistakes from previous coach. Yeast would have to rebuild from problems he created. Previous coach had over 70 players and beat CAL twice. Is Booher going to allow Mercer to continue to be a laughing stock? They may need new leadership in the Athletic Department as well. Wait until people see their basketball and baseball teams this year.

Because his family is AD? Why is he untouchable? He has completely destroyed the Mercer program in the last 3 years.

Would Boyle play Corbin 2nd round?

What do the 2nd round match ups look like for Boyle, JC, Franklin, Cov Cath, PT, Highlands and Corbin?

A school the size of St X should have no excuses about depth at any position. Boyle's playing a back up QB and his first start was against Highlands and they won that game. St X could not block Boyle up front and that was the major difference in the game. On the KHSAA website it shows St X roster at 101 players and that doesn't look to include their freshmen class. With a roster that size not having a back up ready to play at any position seems to be on the staff.

How do you move into the CAL or LCA or Lexington Catholic School District like you have to do with a public or county school district?

You have to be really good to play any level of college basketball. Congrats to him. It is really rare to have a D1 level player in the 12th region as seen by the history of players that have made it that level out of this region. It has been 7 years since the 12th region produced a D1 player and not sure how many they have had in the last 15-20 years but I would say probably less than 5 total.

To be able to play D1 you have to be able to guard your position at that level. All guys at that level can score. Imfeld had a great high school career. Where did he end up and how was his college career?

Ok was hoping QB would be back this week. Hopefully he can play against ST X. Losing Drakeford will hurt in the secondary. Behind Driver he probably has the 2nd most D1 offers on the team. They do have some depth at DB so should be able to roll on.

Agreed. Goodman will help probably more on defense than offense but good to get him able to play. He didn't play in the prior 3 games to Lex Cath so they were only missing one player from previous 3. I am hearing Boyle lost their safety in the bye week. Hopefully QB is back this week or next.

With Lincoln having close games with Danville and Eas Jessamine it seems like they would have a hard time with Franklin.

They were only missing Cliff Yocum on the line in that game and he had started right tackle all season up until the Lex Cath Game. Give Boyle coaches credit after the Lex Cath game they moved Kelly from center to right tackle to fix problems they had against Lex Cath and could tell a big difference in Highlands game. Boyle starting QB played until midway though 2nd qtr before going out. Backup came in and scored only TD against Lex Cath and looked really good against Highlands in the win. Saying they had 3 plus linemen out against Lex cath is incorrect.

Ok so going on 7 years ago. Faulkner scored over 3,000 points for his career. He averaged 26 as a senior and 16 as a freshmen.

Michael Allen held this for a long time. He was a guard in late 80's early 90's. As someone mentioned earlier Hollingsworth from Dunbar may have passed him but I'm not sure.

Impressive. Who was the last D1 scholarship player to come out of the 12th region? Crazy when you look at someone like a Hagan Tyler from Boyle 6'4 guard that averaged 23 a game and went to Campbellsville. Murphy averaged 9.5 a game and getting a Western offer.

How is Ballard's Defense? Boyle's offense has been inconsistent since the Bulliet East game only scoring over 21 points in one game since then. Ballard's offense will need to be really good to get over 21 points on Boyle's defense.

Mercer is 39th or last in 3A in defense at 53.4 a game. This is with them giving up 28 in a quarter to Atherton that was called for weather. Bardstown should be able to do what they want on offense. Mercer is last in 3A in rushing on offense so just have to focus on stopping their passing game.

High school players that play mid to high level AAU have been playing tournaments with a shot clock already for the last few years. In the 12th region the talent level has taken a major drop over the last several years and you see a lot of slow/boring basketball. It will force coaches to have to coach. They won't be able to rely on the stall ball against a better team which will cause everyone to step their game up.

What kind of offers does Willliams/Lorenzen have for college? Driver has every offer known to man and had 1 catch for 84 yards. Boyle doubled Highlands up on total yardage in this game. I get what you are saying though it can get confusing sometimes when you see the amount of touches and targets and who is on the field and who isn't. I see it with a lot of teams not just Highlands.

I don't get it on Franklin. They beat Bulliet East by a TD and Boyle put a running clock on them. Franklin only beat LCA by a point. I am good with the top two but 3-6 seems a little off.

A play action is an intent to deceive. A reverse is an intent to deceive. The player was on the field the whole time and never left the field and was lined up where a receiver could be lined up legally so what is illegal about it? How is it a pretend substitution if he never leaves the field? They caught Highlands on it. Ole Miss got UK on the same play a few years ago.
