Anyone have any details on this one? Have to think Wayne Huff is walking around with a huge smile on his face this morning. No, this isn't the NCC of old, but Boone has had a couple of rough starts recently so an 11-0 run rule has to have him very happy!

Agreed, but I will say I've been impressed with the few fields I've seen recently. They've taken the water a lot better than I'd have expected.

AJ McCarron Released by Oakland

Some on here will be begging Cincy to pick him up as a starting QB. This does show how great the talent was around the Red Rifle in one of his best years. That showing in place of Andy was impressive from a backup with limited experience, and, well, we see where he stands talent wise since then. -
Conner Dugout Damaged during last night's storms

NWS is saying that they had a sudden down draft that blew the roof off. Essentially it all gains steam as the gust falls to earth and then once impacted on the ground must continue parallel to the ground until it's energy is gone. It's a wonder there wasn't more damage to the facility with that being the case. -
He's narrowed his list to 7. Oklahoma, LSU, Oregon, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Mt. San Antonio College. Not sure why the 7th one is on a list containing the others.

Bengals Sign Bobby Hart

5.5 million guranteed. I can actually deal with that. If he plays worth the contract you keep him and if not he essentially makes 5.5 million for this season while we polish a drafted tackle. -
Getting some live action in center today. Personally, I love it. I love preparing for anything that may at some point give you an edge. It doesn't mean the Reds have to play him in center, ever, but if at some point the matchups, situation, batting order, etc, dictate that it would be beneficial for them to do so I will be pumped they were prepared to do it.

Correct as far as a grocery store, but if I'm Remke I pull the plug on the stores and try my hand at a couple of small restaurants in the area. Fried chicken, their fried cod and wedges. Don't get to fancy, just be good at what you're good at!

NKY High School Baseball - College Updates

I believe I remember him signing with Lourdes University, but he is not listed on their roster. How about another small town kid. What did Evan Slone end up doing? -

Brady Jones (Bracken Co.) is on the roster at MSJ, but has not recorded any stats this season. -
I thought I would start a thread about some of the guys from NKY who are currently playing college ball on various levels. We can update here as you see/follow what they've done in current games. Ethan Stringer (Beechwood) is hitting .222 on the season for Louisville and started the year with a 2-for-4 game against UCONN. Cameron Ross (Conner) has thrown 6 innings this year for NKU. He's sitting with a respectable 3.00ERA. Trey Bowden (Highlands) has 3 starts for NKU this year, and is hitting .182. Trey Ollier (Cooper) has thrown 1.2 innings this year for NKU with an ERA of 5.40. Joe Martin (Highlands) has thrown 4.1 innings for NKU this year and has an ERA at 6.23. These are just the guys at bigger local colleges. Please add in some guys who are playing at the smaller colleges as well! It's fun to keep up with what these guys are doing in their baseball careers past high school!

Referees berating other referees
ChickenWyngz replied to buttels's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
There aren't enough officials in any sports for there to be too much of a punishment. There was a baseball umpire caught by Freedom staff urinating on the wall of the stadium building last year that will likely be back doing games this year. Severe shortages in officials means that assignors, coaches, players and fans have to put up with far more than they should each year. -
Absolutely circle hooks. More successful hook rate, I believe, and definitely more hooked in the mouth in case you catch and release. Generally live bait is best when limb lining, hung right under the surface as to splash around, etc. Line is up to you, I use the string you can find at a wal-mart of any other store and made for catfish limb lining. I've also used a very heavy mono with no issues. Use a swivel either way as the cats will spin and things while on the line and can cause issues and breakage that way. Be sure to use lines that are green and springy. Allows for more action from the baitfish and less chance of the limb breaking off on you. I'm a HUGE fan of limb lining, but currently without a boat. :ohbrother:

Seems each week that I watch I'm seeing less fans in the stands. Is this league going to be on its way out soon? -

BIG money. Opt out after year 5. Can't complain about cashing those checks and living in that climate, but man, a hitter signing in SD is like a pitcher signing in Cincinnati. You don't see it often. Huge ball park there!
