  1. Interested in opinions, I'm all for preserving history, but is there a number that makes this a no go on a rebuild? If you get to 10 billion, is it worth it? Is it priceless?
  2. Back in 2002, Orioles outfielder Marty Cordova had to sit out a few games with an embarrassing issue. It’s hard to even call it an injury… After falling asleep in a tanning bed, Cordova was so sunburnt that doctors advised him to sit out some games and stay away from direct sunlight. He was able to return to the field within a week’s time, making the whole thing a rather minor issue in an otherwise forgettable baseball season in Baltimore. But he still gets to be immortalized on the list of non-baseball related injuries.
  3. This is one of the more legendary stories of baseball players getting hurt outside of the ballpark. Back in 1990, outfielder Glenallen Hill awakened on his couch in a daze, not knowing where he had sustained some nasty cuts and bruises on his arms and legs. He had been taking a nap, and in the midst of his dreams had a nightmare about being chased by spiders. Hill, an arachnophobe, ran across the room in his sleep, bumped into a wall, and fell through a glass table. The incident happened in July and caused him to be placed on the disabled list.
  4. No doubt! Been a pretty impressively bad start to the series.
  5. I'm there too. Gotta stick with a lineup at some point.
  6. How much difference does Scooter or Senzel make to this lineup and it's production? Last night was another one run loss. They've had many of those already. Do Scooter or Senzel change those outcomes?
  7. Tyler Mahle vs Kenta Maeda tonight. Reds need to right the ship tonight and get a W. 10:10 first pitch.
  8. Impressive to roll out with that lineup and even be in it to have a shot at the end, but they Reds need to figure Iggy out quickly.
  9. From C.Trent Well, this is a #Reds lineup: Casali 2 Suarez 5 Puig 9 Kemp 7 Peraza 4 Iglesias 6 Schebler 8 Farmer 3 Castillo 1 Two notes: • It's Casali's first start as a leadoff man since he was a freshman at New Canaan (CT) High School • The lineup has 5 former #Dodgers
  10. Luis Castillo (0.92 ERA) vs Clayton Kershaw Have to love Castillo's chances of keeping us in this one. Hopefully they can work some counts and get the pitch count up early rather than the typical Kershaw domination for 7-8 innings. It will be Kershaw's first start this season, here's to hoping he's not as sharp as usual.
  11. Reds open up their west coast swing tonight with a 10:10pm first pitch against the Dodgers. Games times are: Mon- 10:10pm Tue- 10:10pm Wed- 3:10pm I hate the west coast swings as I'm always asleep by first pitch, but let's keep the momentum going Redlegs!
  12. If you can make Kelsey happen you absolutely do. He wants to come home, and has even stated that, but does he do it in a lateral move to NKU? Fife also has to be an interview, if he accepts it. Have to love that he has seen first hand from Izzo how to develop teams throughout a season and have them playing their best by March.
  13. How does this work? Does a series split with the Cards earn me a third straight start? Or should we share the love?
  14. If they can pitch the way they did for 4 consecutive days, I’ll take a rough outing every 5th. I’ll also take .500 against the Cards all year long. Always going to be a tough opponent. Short sample size, but they proved they can battle with them. Now go hold your own on the West Coast which has been a struggle lately.
  15. Need a solid start from Disco today. Can’t let the Cards get to Miller with a lead.
  16. And 13 million strikeouts, but that is today’s game. I agree with you though. He’s a good player. Was coveted by a lot of other franchises while here. Classic Cincinnati athlete in being not quite as good or awful as some believe.
  17. No, you don’t. You said yourself in the last series thread that the second out was the rally killer. If he gets thrown out we’d have heard that narrative again.
  18. *Irvin And it’s a fielder with a cannon, in shallow center, with his momentum coming forward. You absolutely do not try that with only one out. Not with Suarez following. Saurez didn’t work out, but the rest of that inning is why you don’t.
  19. Just now realized the Reds will be the Sunday Night Baseball game this week. Always an exciting different feel to that game.
  20. I've wondered since this was released how much MLB sweetens the pot for this. For all the reasons you mentioned, St. Louis travels well, weekend, etc. You have to think Cincinnati gets something for that.
