Last year score of Scott County game was 71 to 20. This year 28 to 7. That counts right? 51 points.... -

Defense gave up an average of 30+ last year. Averaging around 12 this year (weather aided on one outing). Hoping for a much closer game. -

This is going to be their best chance out of the last three meetings. This CovCath team showed last week that they can be scored on (also showed they can score a lot). They are not completely unbeatable. A few turnovers go the Birds way then there is a chance. -

Have any other teams scored 21 on CovCath this year? -
Right about the time that Trinity is back on top and Cov Cath has a few down years and people will be asking “why do they subject themselves to this sort of beating each year”.

NKY 6A "Super District" - Who wins it?
Retiredtooearly replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
CC has given up 20 or more three times and SC has given up 20 or more five times. Their scores when they played Highlands were very similar. When looking at schedules and team info trying to pick one my 8 year old daughter simply said “purple is prettier”. Have to go with the Camels. -
Locker room music has been officially changed from Guns-n-Roses “Welcome to the jungle” to Duncan Sheik “Barely Breathing”.

Beechwood 28 Simon Kenton 21
Retiredtooearly replied to bugatti's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think they are of the cusp of bigger things and have been. From the outside it appears have centered their game plan around play makers instead of kids that can make plays. When a defense only has to key on two or three guys it makes your job easier. Once they get 4-5 real threat players on each play, look out. Or maybe they already have them and they are not being utilized. -

6A #7 Simon Kenton vs. 1A #1 Beechwood

Coaching only goes so far, execution is what matters. Coach can have every play from every team that has ever won a game and poor execution will override that advantage. All offensive plays are designed to score right? -

If there is any question on condition or ability I would sit any/all players that are going to be needed in the playoffs. This game is a big deal locally but of no benefit down the road to either team. -
I for one am glad the frosh teams you listed are all showing signs of real talent. Blow out games are no fun to watch. I’ll take a competitive Friday night every time.
-
Highlands is 4A they just choose to play up. I believe Beechwood is moving to 2A due to enrollment so the separation isn’t that dramatic.

This is what I figured. It’s never as bad as “the mill” says it is. This is why myself and a few others were saying “these things happen, get past it.” All sports are played on an emotional level and I think football especially. At this point in the year the same kids have been beating on each other for months, they are not doing so hot this season...emotions bubble over and stuff happens. Run your laps, lick your wounds and take it out on who you play this week.

They did have 4-5 starters go down Friday night. Not sure of the severity I think only one came back into the game.

“In my day” guys went at it at practice, you let them do their thing for a few minutes and break it up. Players usually broke it up, coaches were there to make all parties run laps afterwards. There was a definite hierarchy that was followed. If it went too far and someone was swinging helmets at players on his own team...that is a different issue. Make that person accountable for their actions. Strange concept these days.

Where would you rank BYE in 6A?
Retiredtooearly replied to Colonels_Wear_Blue's topic in KY Football (High School)
When BYE come to town these contests are so one sided the bleachers are dead quiet and there is no question about the outcome, they are lights out! -
Looks like a first degree heart block, not terminal but will need “a little something” to make it right.

This would be a great place to insert a reference to Reno Hightower but I’m afraid only 6 people would know what I was referring too.
