  1. What’s the matter, couldn’t get to the field to write it in the snow? No dedication.
  2. Looks like the Yankees are moving into full contact Baseball.
  3. Come on, the Simon Kenton supporters have gone out of their way to express their support for the Birds and the fine tradition they have established...
  4. Nah, Birds have had a good year. If CovCath wins and it is a clean win (no strange last second call by a ref that was 40 yards from the play or something like that) then they got beat twice by the same team. No shame in losing to a good/better team.
  5. 28-21 with the winning score on the final drive with under 20 seconds left on the clock.
  6. Offense always has the benefit of surprise. You throw a fresh legged receiver in the game and most people don’t know anything until the DB looks up and sees a new number running by him. If you have the cards no sense in holding them this late in the game.
  7. Now that JV season is over there has to be a few other “rabbits” in that hat to pull out. With how successful they were you would think there have to a few guys that can make “a” play.
  8. I just don’t see a running clock in this one. This is not last years CovCath team and not last years Highlands team. They are a lot closer in talent this year. Birds had their close call in the mud last week. CovCath has not been tested since the last Highlands game. Birds might win, CovCath probably will. Is it safe to say the state trophy will be decided this week Fort Wright?
  9. “It” as in the right to say they beat the number one team in the state? That it? Or the right to play for a state championship? Which “it” are you referring to?
  10. Key on the run because the pass isn’t working is a “real time” decision. If the passing game isn’t moving the ball then you have to go with the run and the defense will key on the run. How many games has CovCath won because of their overpowering passing game? They are a run first team. I bet if you go back and look at the film there would be just as many Highlands receivers that found an opening and Cramer just missed them or overthrew them. But I still have to say trying to throw over a 6’5” defensive player (twice) is not a good game plan but it sounds like he may not be 100 percent. Maybe his vertical will be somewhere below 60 inches Friday.
  11. Nope, I’m the prognosticator or prognosticators and I am predicting a long cold winter and a Birds win. Or at least a great Friday night football game.
  12. Let’s just say for arguments sake he completes twice as many passes (a Herculean accomplishment by most standards) that means he has completes 8. Teams that do well against Highlands run the ball. Which ever team controls the LOS and finishes long, time consuming drives wins this game.
  13. I think the Birds have their work cut out for them but I don’t see a running clock.
  14. Birds D has not given up 35 all year. That has been the one consistency with this team, defense is solid.
  15. I for one would love to see a local team advance. I just don’t think it is in “The Cards”.
  16. Stunting linebackers and linemen shooting gaps, keep the offense guessing. If Highlands can make CovCath “live” at third and long I like their chances.
  17. Things go right there may be plenty in the garbage cans around 11:00 Friday evening...(That’s funny)
  18. Highlands line backers getting back into coverage as quick as they do causes problems for passing teams.
  19. Young QB looked shaky first game. Knows what to expect and has the benefit of seeing how fast the Birds D moves. That is a huge plus for CovCath.
  20. Mo got beat by an Elder team who’s only loss by more than one score was to Winston Woods who pretty much beat everyone they saw all year. Strange feeling Simon Kenton Season ending this Friday. No shame in getting beat by a better team. Hope SK can at least keep it respectable.
