  1. Looking at the score it looked like the best QB’s and RB’s were doing just fine.
  2. I really don’t think Highlands was going to pull out a miracle and win that game. I also know after the boatload of shakeups that have happened this year to take nothing for granted. Would they have lost, probably...would they have come back and made a game out of it...maybe. We will never know for sure.
  3. Crushed Highlands? It was only 28-7. Birds were getting ready to make a run at it.
  4. CovCath has been tested once in two years. They are number 1 till proven otherwise in my book.
  5. I would agree. I would have left BG at third but they were beat pretty handily (at least by the score, game could have been closer to watch).
  6. It would appear that this year had coincided with a “Friday monsoon cycle”. With more teams playing on turf and more rain has that played a role in more injuries?
  7. Without Buten CovCath would have had 2 or 3 more positions. Both teams did a great job bending but not breaking. Takeaways were the difference.
  8. Last Friday was the first time this year I have seen him play but dude takes some great angles. That is a great equalizer when someone is quicker than you by a step or two.
  9. Not taking away from McGinness, he had a great game against a very good Birds defense and essentially carried the offense. But Buten being a sophomore and picking up 134 on a very good CovCath defense....
  10. Not trying to offend anyone here but I think the “biggest” difference you may find is who was throwing to Smith.
  11. I still would like to see where BG will be ranked if they drop another game this week especially if it is by more than one score. Is a two loss BG still in the top 5 in 5A?
  12. Be interesting to see where BG is ranked if they drop another game this week. I get that they played a team “on another level” and all that and got pummeled but the “pummeler” beat a down T team by one I believe.
  13. Birds controlled the clock, converted on third down, sustained drives and kept CovCath offense off the field as much as possible. Only place they slipped was turnovers. Should have been a win!
  14. What more did he expect? They ran into a motivated team that played one heck of a defensive game! I was impressed with both defenses honestly. Mayer is a monster! Was afraid he may step on someone out there.
  15. Standing on the goal line, North end zone, That looked like a Safety to me. The back got turned to his right when he was hit and his shoulder and leg made it out of the end zone but the ball looked like it never crossed the line. Bang bang play I know but looked like a missed call.
  16. Could not understand why in the first half they kept trying to throw over number 13, kid has to be 6’6”. With his arms above his head he could have straightened the new flag out from the 20 yard line.
  17. I don’t know, seems like you may be speculating a bit. Did you see that kickoff return and that one other play? The Birds were just getting ready to turn the corner!
  18. Or spelling things when the kids are listening “ u p s e t “.
  19. I’d like to see HHS pull out the upset but don’t see it happening without help from CovCath making mistakes. I agree having fun the CovCath faithful is fun. Keeping injury reports hush hush and such like the game plan is going to be changed. It hasn’t changed in a decade why start now?
