I like this one but could be convinced to flip CCH and HHS for the 1 & 2 and Cooper and Beechwood for the 3 & 4.

Not sure where he will end up. In spring ball, he worked at QB and DB and had success at both. I think earlier in the string @Cov_Cath_Hwy alluded to a potential QB competition. I can't speak to that but from what I have heard from some of the players that it is certainly possible. Have to agree with @TheConch, I have heard nothing but good things about him, he seems to be working hard and fitting in at his new school.

Cov. Cath. will put some miles on the bus and scrimmage North Laurel on August 11. In addition, they will have a few 7v7 games against Conner, Cooper, Moeller and New Cath. in July.

Don't take this as iron clad truth. It is second had information from wishful parents. In my defense these parents are generally in the know so I do think this could be valid. I should have verified it before posting. I just did a quick look on the Boone Co Board of Education website and see nothing about this so....it may not be true, or it just may not be announced yet. Either way I hope it does happen.

With open enrollment starting this fall in the Boone Co school system, it will be interesting to see who transfers in and who transfers out. I know parents at Ryle, Cooper and Conner and it sounds like it could be a revolving door at all three.

I was at one of the last practices and was impressed with some of the results from the weight room too. Some of those guys looked ripped.

Impressive two sophomores anchoring the defense. Guessing that would be Mason Ginn and Kellen Faulkner? I haven't seen Kellen play but I've seen Mason play before. He's a solid player with good size and seems to enjoy the physicality of the game. Great traits to have for a center back. Conner has good coaches in place and a lot of young talent coming up. Conner soccer is certainly trending up for the next few years.

Cov Cath will have a young team this year. I think they will be solid in terms of abilities, but it will be interesting to see how they match up physically.

I like the Ryle vs Highlands game right out of the gate. NCC and Conner should be a good one too!

Yesterday was Cov Cath's first day back to school after spring break. Supposedly he was there in classes. Thinking he's enrolled.

Spring practice starts this week! It will be interesting to see if there are any position moves, who will emerge as the team leaders and how hard they have been hitting the weights this winter.

I agree, but if you take a step back, I don't think they had much choice. 3 of our 4 district competitors are not natural competitors for us. Holmes being the only remotely natural competitor, but that is even still not a normal one. Then you have the rivalry games of Highlands, Beechwood and Dixie which takes our game count to 7. I believe Ryle and Simon Kenton were on the schedule prior to the end of last year which leaves 1 slot left to fill which I guess was filled by Campbell Co. Campbell Co has been on and off the schedule for several years too. Thinking both schools had an open date that needed to be filled and it worked out. Not to mention RPI help for CCH, 4A vs 6A and Campbell Co playing a tough opponent prior to playoffs. Agreed not a normal schedule but probably had to be done that way.

Not terribly versed on several of these teams. Who do you think the potential 3 losses come from?

Sam Vinson represented well last night! Hope he stays at NKU but would understand a move.

Not sure about that. Last I heard he was at either Lloyd or Tischner.

Maybe Mark Goetz and Bob Noll are coming out of retirement?

How does it not get interesting? Will he be eligible to play or is he ruled ineligible and sit a year? If ruled ineligible, does he go back to Beechwood? If so, what position does he play? I agree with @BirdDaddyPitzer is your guy this year. Sounds like there is a whole lot of family "enthusiasm". How will the staff handle this one? Will it be a distraction, or will it be a net gain for the football and basketball teams? There is no denying this kid is an athlete. The big question is how will both parties respond to the changes. Not sure about you but I find it very interesting.

If we are talking about the boy from Beechwood mentioned before, he did attend St Pius X for elementary school. Not saying I am for or against what he is doing, just stating a fact.

We didn't win the 7 vs 7 World Championship last year and probably won't this year either and to my knowledge we won't be scrimmaging SK either, but we will get a regular season match up. A game I'm looking forward to by the way because it will be a good one. I will say we will make a deep run in the playoffs. State Champs? maybe, maybe not. There are too many good teams in 4A to make that claim.

I'll take a shot at this one: 1. Bowling Green 2. Scott Co. 3. South Western 4. Woodford Co. 5. Cooper.

Settle down now! I'm only parroting what the kids are telling me. Now if only I could get my wife to trust me like that.

I concur. I think the line will be good, not great, but good and we will be deep in most all positions. I was pretty acclimated to the 5A world. Not so much the 4A world. My little bit of research tells me Boyle, Corbin, JC, Paducah and maybe Mason and Bardstown will be good teams, but I don't think I could begin to rank them with a shred of any reality. I'll leave this one up to the more seasoned BGP people. When they come up with their rankings, I will probably complain ?
