I'm seeing the "Big Guys" forming a super division of the top 48 programs divided into four 12 team divisions. 11 division games, 1 game with lower level (49 and lower)....teams like Rutgers, Maryland, UK, etc. The four division winners would play for the. Championship. Just a thought. College football is a mess.

What about are the players as good as the hype?

If you are a good fit in the portal you probably might want to play for guys with NFL ties. The state of recruiting has changed dramatically since the portal and NIL have arrived.

Kentucky never has players like Hartline has been blessed to work with at Ohio State. It's a big difference.

That was a world record performance in the time it took to hire a new coach. As much as we blame and applaud coaches it's still all about quality players. With all of the coaching changes the transfer portal will be unbelievable.

How many Ole Miss players enter the transfer portal and not participate in the playoffs? Think about that. College football is an absolute mess.

I keep saying the same thing. No matter who coaches at UK they need a terrific recruiting department with a ton of NIL money. There are not enough SEC quality athletes in our state since we have only a little more than 200 football schools and if there are 10-15 of those guys they NEVER get all of them. Alabama had 48 in state guys on their roster and Auburn 47! That's the biggest issue.

I think James looked at the situation, met the kids, met the administration, and community football fans and realized it wasn't a good fit. I believe he returned to FC, they sweetened the situations for him and his wife, he looked at what he had in place and had coming, and decided to stay. Probably the smartest career move for him and his family.

Tough year to be looking for a head coach with several big time openings. I think Kentucky might be viewed as a dead end job by an up and coming coach and guys getting to the end of the road may not want to try to rebuild before seeing success. I say it all the time.....not enough big time talent in Kentucky and the biggest school struggles to get them.

Not many coaches have accomplished that.

I had the opportunity to officiate several state semifinals in a row. Thanksgiving morning I would pack and check all my gear and know I was leaving the next day to wherever I was assigned. I taught and coached basketball in a school that made several semifinals appearances and finals appearances and won a couple state titles. Watched my stepson win a state final after an OT win in the semis. My son-in-law has had three state finals appearances, two in a row, and I hope he and his team eventually get the big trophy. Thanksgiving and football..... HS football.... have been a great part of my life! I hope all of the players, parents, coaches, officials, and fans are able to enjoy similar experiences.

Sounds like coaching left and talent took over.

Watched all those guys grow up and play as my son was also in that class. That was a good group of young people. Losing season as freshman....state champions as seniors. Jeff played football until he entered HS but then concentrated on basketball.

I believe Chris left education and coaching to work in his wife's family's restaurant business, but returned to education.

Why? He grew up in Boyle County. Bowling Green is a very nice place and he's about an hour from Nashville, correct? I imagine he has about everything he wants or needs at South Warren.

Trust me....it is the way to go even if the salary is less. With the Social Security fairness act repealed for Kentucky he could build up SSI credit as well as joining the diocese pension plan.

Not necessarily. He might find it quite different from Boyle.

Why leave Boyle? As I understand his wife is a physician. The Danville area may be a place they enjoy more than a big city.

I believe the biggest issue with hiring Bathiany was that he did not have a Kentucky teacher's certificate. It's a different situation at Moeller.
