Someone let me know how the Trinity freshmen looked. I have been told not to expect much from them. Of course most of these observations are coming from poplar level road. The Tiger fans are expecting big things from their frosh. They tell me they got some last minute change of minds from going to Trinity to going to Saint Xavier. These were big time players according to them.

After tonight i do not think X has closed the gap with Trinity. In previous threads i expressed the opinion that they had indeed closed the gap. They have not. Trinity totally destroyed a very good Ryle team, meanwhile X was not impressive against a very bad Simon Kenton football team. Last time i checked after getting home from the Ryle scrimmage, the Trinity reserves put up 14 more points for a 61-7 lead.

I wish Trinity would have duplicated last years freshmen team. I will be anxious to hear how this year’s freshmen look. From what i have heard do not expect much From this year’s crop of 9th graders. The Trinity sophomores are a very special group indeed, and i look forward to their next 3 years.

Trinity is a well oiled machine. The biggest threat to Trinity will be Male H. S. They are currently destroying Bowling Green H. S. In their scrimmage.

I would have DeSales at number 1 pre season, but for one reason, they lost their top returning running back to a transfer. He will now be a junior running back for Butler H.S. Way too many transfers going on in Jefferson county. Either allow all transfers,or deny all transfers, one or the other. The rules as printed are hardly ever enforced.

I take coach at his word. I believe you will see a 60 percent Run game and a 40 percent passing attack. Maybe 70-30.

When I was a kid and saw the 1959 Manual team play all their home schedule at Manual stadium I wanted to attend Manual and play football and baseball there. Sadly for me we moved out to the county and I was stuck with going to a school I had no connection with. All the older athletes I knew were Crimsons. I have always pulled for Manual and wish them the very best. I would love to see them playing championship football once again.

What has happened to Manual H.S.? They wanted out of the district that included Male, and Trinity, and Saint Xavier. Since this happened it has been downhill from there. They have a very good coach leading the program so i don’t think that is it. Can some of you Crimson fans explain things.

What’s up with Trinity losing all these players to transfer ? Last year DeSales best player was a Former Trinity player. We are losing another player to a basketball factory that could care less about academics. Now i read that another player is at South Oldham.

Who is the young man who left Trinity for South Oldham? What were the circumstances of his transfer ?

Ryle reminds me of Highlands, always full of hope and talent. End result Trinity always blew them out. Ryle also whistling through the graveyard. End result, Trinity blows them out like last year. I will be surprised if Ryle even scores.

Anyone at the freshmen scrimmage on Saturday ? If so, how did the youngsters look? There is a lot of confidence over on poplar level road in their incoming 9th graders.

Hey coach, ditch the mustard color uniforms. Stick with green or white.

Get used to this trend. It will only get worse before it gets better.

Saint Xavier will win, and win big. This Tiger team will be a team to reckon with this year. They have a very good chance to run the table on the way to a state championship.

If Trinity struggles to beat Ryle, or indeed drops the game to Ryle, then it will be a long first half of the season. If Trinity wins in a blow out, then things will be just fine for the Rocks.

The best of luck to the Rebels in the upcoming season. I remember some real good games with Trinity HS in the playoffs. I hate to see such a respected football program fall on hard times.

Until this years sophomores come around and play to their potential, the Rocks will suffer on offense. This will not be the stellar year a lot of Rock fans think it will be. I see at least 3 losses for the Rocks leading to the playoffs.

As a side bar, looks like Saint Xavier cleaned Trinity’s clock when it came to getting the talent, speed, and size of the freshman class. Things are best settled on the field, but as far as the look test, and how they both look at practice i give a big advantage to the baby Bengals.

I predict this is the year Saint Xavier starts turning things around against Trinity. They have a load of talent coming in in their freshman class. Size and speed. They have beat out Trinity for freshman football talent the last 2 out of 4 classes. The total dominance by Trinity on all 3 levels is about to end.

Get used to it, we will be seeing more and more closings in the near future.
