Robertson County played hard last night. Just wasn't meant to be. They have a lot of young talent coming up through the ranks that has gained valuable experience the past couple of years. Hopefully this talent will translate to more opportunities to be successful in the coming seasons. In the meantime, good luck next week. Congratulations to Harrison on their victory.

Deming/Robertson County has had something to say about that numerous times in the past in regards to Nicholas County moving on since this alignment went into effect. Also, I recall at least couple of instances where Harrison was the solid favorite over a Pendleton County team that had struggled through the regular season only to see the tables turned in the District tourney. Should be an entertaining District tournament.

Is Stanley out for an extended amount of time or is this precautionary? Sounds like it was a great game.

33% from 3 is the equivalent of 50% from 2. Most people consider 50% from 2 an adequate shooting percentage. Looks like quite a few of their kids are at or above the 33% threshold from 3.

Congratulations to Coach Brooks and the Greyhounds! Congratulations to Mr. Wells on his MVP selection. I am really happy for Coach Barr as well. He is very dedicated to all of the students within all of the athletic programs and has been for many years in many different capacities. Glad to see success come your way. Again Congrats!

Congratulations to Coach Letcher and the Lady Jackets! This will be Nicholas' 4th trip overall and first since 1995. Good luck in Frankfort ladies!

Paris has a lot of guys who can step up and have a big game for them. Looks like Johnson was that guy tonight. Congrats and good luck at state.

Looks like Nicholas was able to withstand the certain beat down they were supposed to recieve from the unrelenting Polar Bears. Here's to hoping the Greyhounds don't cower in the corner when Polar Bears come calling Saturday night:)

There doesn't seem to be much difference, at least not yet anyways. 9 of the top 10 are the same in the 2 rankings with the vast majority of the top 20 similar as well. Who from a rural area isn't getting much recognition and deserves more? I too like to see rural schools to get notoriety, but off the top of my head I can't think of any this season. Not top 20 caliber anyways.

Paris is playing well at the right time with the All A starting this weekend. Congratulations to the Hounds. Keep up the good work.

I think the game between Clark and Paris on January 3rd will go a long way toward determining who is the class of the 40th.

Congratulations to Mr. Jump and to Williamstown. They have put a good run of games together. Holding a Nicholas County team in check that had other than against Clark County been able to consistently score points this season. Again congrats!

It could be argued that you are for corporate welfare. Of which cost John Q. Taxpayer way more than the takers you refer to:)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't recall the Polar Bear folks crying foul when Mason County was not interested in seeding the district because they were more interested and rightfully so in playing a state contender level schedule. Now that the Royals are not perennial state contenders and are regional contenders they decided it it is in their best interest to seed. Only now that Mason County is on board have the Polar Bear folks come out of woodwork crying wolf.

I am just not in a rush to take the only advantage these schools who have the draw taken away from them. They are already behind the 8 ball when it comes to enrollment, resources, etc. They usually still only have a one in three chance to get the matchup they want and then they still have to go out and win the game. They already only get the crumbs, let them at least have the crumbs. I totally understand the other side of the argument, but you already have the other 99% of the advantages, at least let the other 1% have a leg off the turkey since you have the rest of the bird plus all of the trimmings and desserts.

In the case you are referencing the argument can be made that the teams wanting to seed wants something handed to them as well. I am in favor of playing the hand you are dealt and not complaining about whats fair or not fair, because it can be argued nothing is fair under any given circumstance. Sure be upset about it but don't ostracize the other side for their position. People only complain about what is not fair when the other guy has an perceived advantage. They only complain when the perceived advantage is against them. You will not hear them complain when they are the ones with the advantage.

Since when in America or in the world for that matter is everyone ever on a even playing field? We are are born with different skills that make us unique. We are all born in to different socio-economic backgrounds that either make our path easier to success or much harder. If the sole reasoning behind seeding is because it is fair then schools should be divided like congressional districts except go one step farther and mandate all schools have an equal amount of boys and a equal amount of girls. Life isn't fair nor it should be. Thats what makes it special when you overcome obstacles put before you that people have said you can not overcome. Just go out and beat the obstacles that are put out in front of you and quit expecting things to be on a even playing field. Next thing you know, a county school will start complaining about the town school being able to get together to practice in bad weather because all of the kids live close by and can walk there and county kids can't because they live farther away. Total unfair advantage.

Maybe Covington Catholic is just that good. They beat a good North Hardin team by 27 today. Congrats to Coach Harden and the Demons on a very nice win. They have 2 very impressive wins this week.
