Ashland is terrible, but that doesn't change the fact that Clark County is looking like the class of the 40th.

Another good defensive and team effort by the Cards. Not sure of the scoring, but they share with each other and like handing out the assists.

 

End of 1st was 17-5 GRC., halftime 33-14. Not many times to you limit a team to only 14 points in a half. GRC went on to score 20 points to Ashland's 10 in the 3rd.

When I was growing up in the 16th Ashland owned the 16th region. When Ashland Oil went out so did a lot of their talent.

Ashland is terrible, but that doesn't change the fact that Clark County is looking like the class of the 40th.

 

I think the game between Clark and Paris on January 3rd will go a long way toward determining who is the class of the 40th.

Highlight of the game was when Will Philpot dunked the ball. I also loved the reaction of our bench, so supportive.

Cardinals Outpace Tomcats, 71-45

 

 

GRC created opportunities at the start of the third quarter. The Cardinals went on a, 7 to 0, run which was culminated by a Will Philpot steal and slam. This ignited the crowd making the score, 40-14, with 6:43 remaining in the third quarter. The teams traded baskets for much of the quarter until Chase Taylor banked one home at the buzzer giving the Cardinals a lead of 53 to 24.

The Cardinals extended the lead to as much as 33 midway through the fourth quarter. JJ Johnson’s putback midway through the period made the score, 63 to 30. Ashland would finish the game with a run of 15 to 8. This made the final score, 71 to 45, in favor of the Cardinals.

Ryan Cooper had 13 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks.

Will Philpot had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals.

Chase Taylor had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 steal.

Jehdon Jenkins had 7 points and 2 rebounds.

JJ Johnson had 4 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.

Tydarius Clark had 3 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

Tra Hooten had 3 points.

Houston Goodman had 2 points and 2 assists.

Isaiah Noland had 1 point, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
