I know in high school when our team would have a long travel playoff game, the whole school would be let out early. If I remember correctly around lunchtime. They would also sponsor charter busses that you could pay a small fee to ride for anyone who wanted to go to the game. They would do a going away celebration line for the parents, students, and cheerleaders to send them off after school. Then the busses would follow the team bus in a caravan to ensure a high turnout of fans. (This routine was the same for the basketball teams too)

Looking back on NCC’s losses, outside of the Conner loss, the other 3 teams have turned out to be very good. I think they have learned and used that to hit their stride. Now I think Bellevue’s defense is surprisingly good and has kept them in it. I’m curious to see how good NCC’s offense looks against them. However Bellevue’s offense has not caught up just yet but I like what I see. NCC 31-6

It was 6-0 all the way into the 3rd quarter until a Pick 6 opened it up with 2:32 to go, 3Q. 12-0 NewCath. Eddie Bivens broke off a 36 yard touchdown run to go up 19-0 at 9:51, 4Q. After that Miles hit Stevie for their second TD connection to make it 26-0 at 2:54, 4Q. Finally, Newport got on the board with 34 yard Touchdown pass with only 1:09 to go but it was too little too late. Lots of Turnovers for both teams tonight.

I was really high on Newport after their win against Paris and having previously beaten Ludlow. But I had some too high expectations going into that Sayre game and they were blanked. So while I think Newport is on their way to building the program back up, I think NewCath has found another gear. They came with some attitude in that Raceland game that, while they lost, showed some fire that I think carried into the Campbell County win. I think they will get right through district play and will be healthy and on a winning streak that will carry all the way to 3rd round of the playoffs where they have met their fate in recent years. 42-21 NewCath

Make no mistake Raceland was firmly in control of this game. I do feel NewCath gave a huge chunk of momentum away when it was 41-21 with about a minute to go in the 3rd quarter. 1st and 10 and NCC had driven down to the 25. Short run, incomplete pass, QB slips and falls down and finally interception. Obviously credit to Raceland to bend but not break. But a big difference if NCC closes that drive out with a TD to bring it to 41-28 for the start of the 4th quarter. But obviously INT is the result and Raceland goes the other way with the ball and goes up 48-21 instead.

The 4th down save by the punter at 0:17 in the video below, was a huge swing in the game. Went from a Punt, to a deep fumble disaster, to a big 1st down momentum swing, to a touchdown.

8 Touchdowns in one game is certainly an Amazing way to open your new stadium‼️‼️‼️
