This week’s matchup is quickly becoming known as the battle of “Big Bro vs Lil Bro” in the second round of Single A playoffs here in NKY.

NewCath is coming off a lopsided 42-0 victory over Trimble Co while Brossart got it going in the 4th against Bellevue 30-6. Last year’s matchup was a missed PAT from being a running clock where NewCath bested Brossart 41-14. Both sides know each other very well and will be ready for this one to kick off 7pm in Park Hills on Friday.

Just returned from Krogers in Newport.  Saw this in the milk aisle.  Hope all is OK! I’m interested in his thoughts on this rivalry game as well.

  • Had login issues since last week. Guru helped a brother out. Apparently my old login email doesn’t work anymore. It’s the playoffs and I don’t want to come across as super confident because that’

  • Taking a look at Bishop Brossart schedule from years past to this years schedule I got to commend the coaching staff for getting more than 1-2 games on the schedule they may not win. They had a total

Brossart needs one of those defensive performances like they had against Sayre and Covington Holy Cross in this one.

Might be an interesting game but I think NCC likely wins with little trouble, if any. I doubt NCC faces a stiff challenge until the weekend of semifinals.

I would lean towards Newcath in what might end up being a bit of a run away. For the majority of the game last week it seemed like bellevue was never really out of it until the midway into the 4th. A blown Coverage a bad punt attempt  that was scooped up inside what the 10 really put that one away. not to mention a first half int that helped Brossart start a drive inside the 5. Wasn't able to make the Newcath Trimble or the Newcath vs Bellevue game a few weeks ago but from what my kids told me Newcath had no problems with either of two getting early running clocks. So Give me the Breds.

Is Brossart's defense that good? Or are Holy Cross and Sayre offenses not that....let's say...imposing?

Where's @Breds82 been at? I miss him.

I asked this question after the Brossart and Holy Cross game and I do not think I ever heard anything back.

Who would they play then? I have looked at it all so many times that I can't keep track of anything lol.

RPI kicks in. Most likely C-vile.

I’m not 100%, but I’m sure it would be someone like Campbellsville, Pikeville, KCD, or Raceland. I wasn’t thinking but a quarter final could be challenging if they face Holy Cross, which could happen with them playing Newport Friday, which would depend on who wins.

Sayre hasn’t scored less than 26 in any game besides that one. They beat Newport 26-0.

Covington Holy Cross lowest point total Is 25 against Bracken County. They won 25-24 in that match.

I can’t say if it’s that good or Sayre had an off night. But I think it shows they can play defense if they need too.

I want to see Holy Cross and NCC. Already seen NCC an Newport. I think Newport would love to see NCC again but...I want to see NCC vs Holy Cross.

Whatever type of night they have. Their going to need it to include stopping the run. Bivens is what keeps that offense churning. Sets up everything else.

NCC will have a running clock in this one.

They would most likely play Cambpellsville. Sayre had a bad week against brossart. Sayre’s offense is pretty solid
