Is Brossart's defense that good? Or are Holy Cross and Sayre offenses not that....let's say...imposing?

Where's @Breds82 been at? I miss him.

I asked this question after the Brossart and Holy Cross game and I do not think I ever heard anything back.

Just returned from Krogers in Newport.  Saw this in the milk aisle.  Hope all is OK!

I’m interested in his thoughts on this rivalry game as well.

I turned the @Breds82 light on!

It’s the playoffs and I don’t want to come across as super confident because that’s  not my style, but if NewCath doesn’t cruise to a win I’ll be very surprised.

Last year the Breds were so ate up with putting a running clock on Brossart that it hurt their performance in my opinion.

The Breds running game has been on point since the Conner matchup, it was in the first half of the Raceland game as well. There are still some chemistry issues between the QB and WRs but that shouldn’t matter in this one. Bivens has been running like a scalded and aggressive dog all year and is a wrecking ball against 1A competition.

It’ll be a pretty crowded game Friday, good luck to both teams.

Another angle on the game is that the teams are potentially playing to help increase their enrollment numbers, granted not by a lot. If you live in the middle of the county and you want to play football at a catholic school in Campbell co  which one would you choose? Plenty of former Breds who grew up in southern Campbell co and now reside there and kids go to Brossart, this maybe a game for the kids that are on the fence.

Taking a look at Bishop Brossart schedule from years past to this years schedule I got to commend the coaching staff for getting more than 1-2 games on the schedule they may not win. They had a total of 4 this season which is double what they’ve had over the past 5-6 seasons. I think it will have this team a little better prepared for a team of New Caths caliber.

NewCath is a football school. Brossart is not. This isn’t a shot at Brossart, just different.

I’m curious, what is Brossart?

I think Mustangs?

Big time names there. I love playoff football

I’ll say they’re considered a basketball or Track and Field school. To their credit they’ve only had football the last 20 years or less? They have an awesome outdoor facilty and Central to Southern Campbell Co is booming with new subdivisions and “how many car washes do we need on US 27?”!!! Not many schools hop into continued success in sports right away. Brossart has a slow and steady build history but this game Friday could go a long way for the football program.

Where is this game going to be played at?

I won't disagree with most of what had been stated. Brossart is, at present a track & field school with shiny fields that portray otherwise. I question if Brossart will be able to field a competitive team going forward beyond the next two years.

Every talented player they seem to get ends up getting harvested into another program.

I like the current leadership at the football level, but without a cleansing within the leadership at Brossart, I see no change. It's only going to get worse.

Girls sports across the board have good teams that compete with NKY schools. The culture is just different between the two schools.

I haven't watched the Breds as closely as you @Breds82 so I have to hold your opinion in high regard. But I have noticed on the back end of the year that the WR's have been making some plays for their QB that weren't being made during the earlier parts. It seems like Miles has started to hit his stride for the year. I have been high on Miles for a long time. I think the young man is a gamer and that's a trait that can't be taught, it's either in you or not.

Something did seem off at the beginning of the year. I think health could have been throwing a lot of the chemistry off and that they really had to build the trust up to iron the chemistry out. I am glad I never wrote the Breds off not once because it looks like they are playing their best ball of the year and it's the perfect time to do so. Me and @Yall Wear High Waters have talked about how great October treated them and that there's a Make November Great Again movement.

I think the biggest factors contributing to their success is they are riding that thoroughbred Bivens. That has changed the game for Miles and he looks a lot more confident. His guys are feeding off of that and making plays on the ball and after the catch. They got a good formula in tact and I think they are still getting better each week. They are right where they want to be. Has to feel good for Nevels getting back to playing playoff winning football again.
