This sounds way better to me!! No doubt Belfry is a powerhouse, but I don't see them being leaps and bounds above everyone in the state based off wins over TatesCreek and Harlan. I'm like u it wouldn't shock me to see them get a win over any team in the state but I don't think they are necessarily in a different class than everyone but T.

Carothers and Bright.....them 2 are in a league of their own. I don't think whoever u wanna put in 3rd place even gets close. I'm a big Carothers fan but I've only seen tape, I'll get to see him in real speed late October. I've seen bright do some amazing things....2 years ago as a sophmore he drug 5 Mustang defenders for about 10 yards....ran the next 10 yards backwards.....then turned around and finished the run with a score. He's truly amazing especially at his size. I think he means more to his team's success than any back in the state.....on the other hand Carothers seems just as important an impressive... Not to mention they don't hand out scholarships to the Naval Academy to just anyone......so I'll give the future midshipman the slight edge with Trajan a close close 2nd.

I haven't seen them all in person to make a fair assessment....I really like Cash Jones, I think he does a lot of things really well and has the size and arm to play at the next level. I know lanhgi and Clark Payne are studs but I've never seen them play....and I'm sure I'm leaving out alot I haven't had the chance to see......but if your asking who is the best "high school quarterback" then I don't see how u make a list without Landon arnett close to the top. MF fans can correct me if I'm wrong but I think the kid will be playing 4 his 3rd consecutive ring this year....that says alot. His stats may not jump off the paper but I believe his record as a starter is 31-2 with 2 state titles

I think everyone in western ky if not the whole state knows how tough MF is....6a or 1a doesn't matter. I'm not sure if it was students, players or parents chanting we want MF but either way stuff like that happens and you should feel good because you truly are a big deal. By far in my eyes the representative of HS football from this side of the state with not only ur great record but numerous RINGS. At the end of the day these McCracken kids are still just Lone Oak, Heath and reidland......and a win over MF is very rare for any of those schools. Maybe in 10 years when they are an established 6a program then I can see the chants being a little ridiculous....but even then I will count a win over Lil old 2a Mayfield as one of the highlights of the regular season. Im taking McCracken again but it won't surprise me either way it goes, I just hope it's another instant classic like the last 3. But like I said I wouldn't look to far into kids or fans hyping their self up with chants....because anyone from this area who knows anything about football knows what Mayfield is about. And I guarantee you that whether theyes show it or not they respect them as much if not more than you any team on the schedule.

2A is stacked!!! And probably the most exciting class to me. If MF can knock off McCracken i feel like they areally on another level. But even if they drop another close one this year does it change their #1 ranking??? I'm partial cause i'm from the west....but I think win or lose(a close one) friday they are the team to beat in 2A.

Not sure where you are driving from.....but if the last 3 years are any indication of this year then McCracken/Mayfield is a must see. The last 3 years have come down to the last play..... 2015 McCracken won 37-31 in O.T.(Mayfield outplayed the mustangs but some costly turnovers and late penalty hurt them) 2014 McCracken won 38-37 in O.T. ( Mayfield could have easily tied with a xp but went for 2 and the win on the road) 2013 Mayfield won 35-34 ( I believe McCracken missed a xp or fg on last play but I may be wrong) I expect Friday to be nothing less than the last 3!! Safe travels wherever u decide to go man!!

I like BG big in this one....I like BG big in just about all of them for that matter. Hoping my Mustangs are polished enough by Oct 28th to make it a respectable game this year. Jamale Carothers is one of my favorite players in the state, from what I read he's a great kid off the field.... and his on the field play speaks for itself! As a veteran I really respect his decision to go to the Naval Academy . Looking good forward to him doing great things there!! BG 48-14 in this one

I like McCracken in what I hope is another great close game. I'll admit that we got lucky last year, MF penalties late in the game helped us alot. I feel McCracken is better than last year but I'm sure MF is too. So much respect for the Cardinals and this is the ONLY week of the year I don't pull for them!!

Definitely!! The last 3 years have been 3 of the best highschool games I've ever seen. Hopefully Friday is the same.

Defense put up a shutout...only TD was a Cash Jones int returned for a score. He came back on the first play of next series and threw a TD on the same corner that picked him. They are very talented with lots of atheletes but haven't been tested yet. Can't wait to see the match up next week with Mayfield then the following week at home against Arkansas 5A #1 Pulaski Academy
