Yeah I feel bad for the players....if this thing ends anywhere but on the field that's a tough break win or lose. It's not like it's two small schools that don't have the funds and resources to make this thing happen. I wouldn't want to win or lose that way.

Mayfield/Marshall just played til 12:16 am a few weeks ago....no reason they couldn't wait this out.

I say let Chuck Smith tell the KHSAA what would have happened if they had finished the game......then just make that score final!!

Yeah me too, tough break for a great kid. I feel like it's a good move because u wouldn't wanna risk losing him for the playoffs. I think MF is a lock to run the table even without Trajon.....with the exception of Corbin because I don't know much about them. Either way this doesn't kill them no matter when they bring him back.

Paper said today he's not playing this week or the Corbin game.

Some that stand out to me in no particular order Joe Casey 03 (Brohm) Damien Harris 14 (Sindelar) Ryan Timmons 12 (quick) Jerrold Fuqua 98 (lorenzen) JJ Jude 11 (Towles) Jeremy Britt 98 (lorenzen) These are just players I feel were good enough to deserve the award, not saying they are any better than that years winner...just maybe if they fell in a different year or avoided injury.

I think PT was 1-2 in District play during the regular season. Beat Webster then lost to Union and McLean. Then ended up beating Union in 2nd round that year. Ex UK linebacker Josh Forrest played WR on that PT team

And if he's 6'5 300 and runs a 4.8.....hes gonna play football for a really long time. That's Sunday football numbers!!

IMO no one in the state is better than Jamale Carothers. I'm not sure if he will win or not but if he plays to his potential he should. Not only the best running back but the best football player, Trajon is great and one of my absolute favorite HS players.....But Jamale just stands out

I think we will definitely find out more about Corbin September 23rd....if they can beat MF then we start talking Belfry. But ur right all it takes is one off night....especially in the playoffs.

I mentioned the 2009 Paducah Tilghman team in the 3a thread as being a team who won State with a 4-6 regular season record. Does anyone know of a team having a worse record going into the playoffs and winning State???

I know in 2009 PT started 1-4....and finished 4-6 before they got hot and ended up winning state. Although I don't think that this years PT team is on that same course, I could see one of the Western teams catching a hot streak and surprising people all the way to Bowling green...but more than likely it will be LexCath....no matter who it is they won't beat this years Belfry team. IMO classes 2a,3a and 5a are all but decided....but that's y they play the game, anything can happen.

CAL has to beat Desales not only in the regular season but in the playoffs when it matters before we can start planning a post Thanksgiving day showdown....something they haven't done since 2011 I think. I'm sure Ocath and a few others are looking forward to changing those plans as well.....but I don't see that happening. My way to early prediction is MF rolls into the new Paul B Cox stadium and beats Desales once again.....Then offers up Danville a Lil 2A payback from years past in rout to what I believe is their 13th title
