  1. I believe you and LR both played against him didnt you?
  2. So shutting them out or putting up a running clock wouldnt give them a shot at moving up? Or are the two losses against teams that are likely stronger than anyone on the other top 5's schedule not named Belfry and maybe Murray, too much to over come unless they win the region? Then, if they win the region, do they have to beat Pikeville to jump over them? I could care less, just makes for interesting conversation, imo.
  3. I dont think he is as big, but the Pikeville QB reminds me alot of Randy Maynard that was at Pikeville a few years back. Accurate and threw well on the run and always had to br kept in the pocket bc he would kill you if he started to scramble. The east is going to be a dogfight.
  4. If Raceland beats Fairview by as much or more than Paintsville did, I think they have to move up over Pikeville, their two losses came to teams that are head and shoulders above anyone on the easts schedule not named Belfry.
  5. Aaron Pettery from Raceland had a great leg, as did a mid from Trinity or St X (i believe be played for the packers at some point?) Pettery went to OSU and though he was good, Idk if he has the leg that Pack does. If the kid doesnt go D1, something is bad wrong.
  6. I doubt it. Hazard isnt exactly the power they have been in that district, but they are the solid #2. I look for Hazard to be like Raceland will be come playoff time, that's alot better than they were in the regular season. South Floyd usually has a few good atheletes, but their line play is usually a little weak. Not knowing much on south floyd and simply going on their past history... Hazard 35 South Floyd 18
  7. Raceland will own the LOS. This Fairview line is a far cry crom what it was in '11-'13. Raceland will roll about like Paintsville did, setting up a district title showdown at Paintsville.
  8. From the film I saw, Raceland is better upfront than Fairview by a long shot and looks better than Paintsville upfront as well. It is going to boil down to how well our DBs do this Friday and we will have to continue our "swarming" against both squads. As for this game, I just think Roy will spend alot of the night scrambling. We MUST keep Washington in our sites at all times though. He is by far the best playmaker that the Eagles have.
  9. East gets their second "W", Raiders 28 Lions 20
  10. Have to say i didnt expect Fairview to struggle as much offensively as they did against the Tigers. Im goina say Raceland's run game causes the Eagles issues and keeps their offense off the field. Paintsville also exposed a little bit of how to throw off Roy's timing. I like Raceland to make a statement here, much like Paintsville did. Rams 42 Eagles 12
  11. Might as well get this one rolling. Its that time of year, air is starting to cool, its nearly dark by kickoff, must be time for district games. What's everyone's thoughts?
  12. If Ashland allows GC to move the ball like East Carter did in the first half of tonights ball game, Greenup could pull the upset. Greenup wasnt far from pulling off the upset last year, but their offense hasnt made the strides I thought it would. Having seen both teams play this year, I'll say this one ends uo about like the Raceland game did with Ashland winning by 3-4 scores. Ashland 35 GC 14
  13. Queation fo those who watched the ball game. Obviously turnovers affected Belfry, Lawrence County cashed in on some of the opportunities, but missed on others, missing two field goals (i believe) that would have won the game had they connected. But my question is this. With no turnovers, how does this game play out? If Lawrence cashes in on each turnover its a MASSIVE upset of a scoring margin in favor of LC I would assume. I ask from a Raceland fan's perspective in comparing a few scores (though now days thats nearly a wash due to matchup situations). 1. Paintsville beats Pikeville in over time on the shoulders of Kash Daniel. 2. Belfry thumps Pikeville in Pond Creek. 3. Raceland defeats LC on the road thanks to Bailey Walker ripping the ball out of Mosely's hands, in a game that after watching several times I though Belfry would beat either of the two about like they did Pikeville. 4. The Bulldogs take the Pirates down to the wire. Without the fumbles, does Belfry put a running clock on LC? One could argue that if only HALF the turnovers turned into scoring drives, Belfry wins by 3-5 TDs. Just looking for some opinions from both the Dawgpound and PondCreek faithful.
  14. Raceland had a miracle win last week at Lawrence Co then LC went the distance w Belfry tonight. Same Belfry that beat Pikeville by multiple scores. Paintsville needed OT to pinch Pikeville out. I swear, I cant make heads or tales out if anything this year. Hardest season to predict in my recent memory.
  15. Bout what we all expected. Had Fairview come out in the first half like they did in the second, its a different ball game. Paintsville goes up 12-0 and Fairview goes 3 and out 3 times. It was over. Seemed like the only Eagle defender that wasnt intimidated was Washington.
  16. Game was close at the half last year then Belfry adjusted and blew them out in the 2nd. This game doesnt have the same feel.
  17. If memory serves me right, Connor Messer from Raceland scored 2 or 3 TDs in about 5 mins last year against Phelps, 2 PR and a Rec TD. Thought that was impressive then I read this thread...
  18. OPEN has a Jr High RB suiting up to start varsity. I cant validate it, but they say he leaps tall buildings in a single bound, Built like Isaac Wallace, but Runs like Q. Baker. And dont get me staryed on the speed they have at Water, Ball, and Towel boys. The Rams may be better off going to scout Paintsville and Fairview, and not even risk the emberassment of another "L" to the Open High School Chameleons.... Never did get how they could get their jerseys to blend in so perfectly to their surroundings. Its like there's no one even on their sidelines. But sadly, their fan base doesnt travel well, never a single soul cheering them on.
  19. Absolutely! Definitley a staple in our community
  20. I know the Raceland jr high game was really rough w Fairview. Raceland won by 7 or 8 tds i think. From what i hear it could have been much, much worse. Fairview is having trouble with #s right now outside if the varsity.
  21. I was actually refering to THE comish! Mr. Mark Cooper!!
  22. No one is disputing what Paintsville attempted to schedule. On paper, looking at past history, led to lofty expectations for their schedule. It just hasnt panned out that way.
  23. I think Raceland's two losses are to teams that would beat anyone of Paintsville, Pikeville, or Beechwoods best wins, not named Cov Cath or Belfry.
  24. Gotta say, at this point in the season, the Bourbon Co win is less impressive than the Pikeville win. BC some how managed to beat Southwestern in week one, since then the have been blasted by a decent AT BEST, Madison Central and Madison Southern, barely beat an 0-6 GRC by a TD and defeated a 0-6 Mason County by 2 TDs. With Bourbon Co giving up 40 points/game. Pikeville is the only real quality win, or really opponent, on Paintsvilles schedule up to this point.
