Open Job: Greenup County
Scott was not the OC. He was the QB coach and assisted with the offense. Mike was and is the primary play caller. Raceland has a very big staff full of high caliber, high knowledge, and LONG term high school coaches. They have Hard heads, hot heads, loud, silent, hands-on, hands-off, intense, laid back, and countless other personalities. Each coach has a great deal of football knowledge but more importantly, love the program and the kids that are apart of it. "Coaches leaving" is not an example of an internal struggle, or a problem that would have made them want to leave. Opportunities come and go in the business of HS football, cant blame any of the Raceland coaches, past or present for departing for what they felt was the best career path for them to take.

I was suprised all the way around. Expected a more experienced hire, expected them to promote from within, expected them to make a few offers to outside coaches within the area. Figured they'd reach out to Francis or possibly Lewis. Scott has the knowledge, but there is alot more to coaching hs football than Xs and Os. He has the ability, leave no doubt, but to hire a 27 year old with 4 years of assistant coaching experience is a shot in the dark. Personally, I think Greenup got a steal, now its about him building his staff with experienced coaches. As long as he surrounds himself with that, he will do fine. Especially with the tallent Greenup will have this season.

Its definitely going to be a trial by fire, imo. Very young, yes, inexperienced (as a coach), yes, can he handle it? Yes. I think he will do fine. Greenup isnt an easy place to be a coach in any sport, he has his work cut out for him, but Scotf has never been one to shy away from working to get where he wants to go.

Saw that. Im buying. Great move by GC. Heart-broken and proud at the same time. Outside of that one week in the fall, Scott has my support. Very glad to see him take on this new challenge and taking the steps he felt was right to provide for he and his family.

I'll have to hear it from the horses mouth or in an official release to buy in 100% though.

Open Job: Greenup County
If its true, Its a huge gain for the Muskies and a big loss (for future reference) for the Rams. I hate to see Scott in anything other than Orange and Black, but if this is the case, I couldnt be happier for him, and atleast he is still in the County he grew up. He is an incredible football mind and an even better individual. If its all true, then its a "double edged sword" of a feeling I have.

Who are the strongest Football players in the state???
Went to the Raceland meet today and saw the Richardson kid from Highlands first hand. Kid is an absolute freak. Im 6'2" he was a little shorter than me, weighed in at 236. Bench was 465 (he got more than that up about 70%, not sure how much though), squat was 515, clean 315. All nearly perfect form reps. Very respectful and nice kid. Very supportive of other lifters. A kid from Coal Grove OH squated 625 (he weighs 399), still impressive. But the Richardson kid was boown away by him getting that much. Fun weight meet, lot of strong kids. Thats my 2 cents worth.

With the Sr class they have possibly heading the best class and most tallent they have had in almost 20 years, imo, they should interim a OC or DC and keep things as close to what they would have been as possible. 2017 was set to be another rebuilding year. I say keep that path.

Any talk of who may take over? Armstrong? What about surrounding school assistants, Dowdy, Francis, Grizzle, or Evans? Will the McPeek name make an apperance? Imo, they need to take care of it quick.

Huge loss for GC. A program on the brink of returning back to relevance. Going to be hard going foward, especially this late in the hiring season. Tough blow for the program. Happy for Chris though. Good dude, good coach.

Greenup County 2016 season??? Any thoughts?
Byrd was a suprising disapointment for me. After a massive sophomore season, he never really seemed to get his explosiveness back after his injury. Who looks to take over at QB? Jackson has a history playing QB i know, I look for him to be a big part on both sides of the ball next season.

Im goina say 6-4 or 5-5 regular season and win 1/2 playoff games.

Greenup County 2016 season??? Any thoughts?
Again it will hinge on their offense. Defensively, they handled themselves pretty well. They just lacked real fire power offensively.

Nine players nominated for Kentucky's Mr. Football award
Pretty impressive across the board. I think its between Daniel and Burns though. For the Daniel argument, 37 TDs and 4 take aways to im certain less than 10 thurnovers, is pretty impressive. Burns is a play maker as well and the kids from Pulaski is one of the best QBs to come out of the Mountains, Baker is crazy explosive, but imo, didnt have the year many thought he would and neither did his Tomcats. Tough call here though.

Pikeville's Daric Pugh
The Pikeville highlights ive found on youtube are some of the best quality i have seen at the highschool level. Kudos to whom ever handles that. Multiple angles, high quality, and from a "hype" standpoint, these videos have to pump the Panthers and their fans up. Have they released a state championship film yet? Or were they allowed?

Class 3A State Championship: Belfry 43 Lexington Catholic 0
Scarrieat thing for everyone in 3A has to be Belfry's "youth". They return almost everyone next year. Are they looking at yet another epic run of multiple titles? Seems like their best football may be ahead of them, that being said after winning the state title, seemingly without breaking a sweat.

Ashland's Quinton Baker de-commits from Marshall to attend WKU
Verbal commits are a joke. No point in doing so, true a kid can change his mind, happens all the time and the days of "my word is my bond" are gone, long gone. But the flip flopping is bothersome to me.

Beechwood at Russellville Predictions: 1A Semifinals
Last weeks game showed that Beechwood can beaten. They werent able to plow strwight through LHC. Now, they did manage to win comfortably, rattling off 4 unanswered TDs, so they are still Beechwood. With Russellville having more speed than HC, they shoukd be able to do better against Slusher and I expect them to get better pressure on Feiger and be able to neutralize Stringer. mo, this is Russellvilles ball game to lose, even though they are probably the underdog even playing at home. I think Russellville gets their final due after dealing with Mayfield all these years. Russellville 27 Beechwood 21

Paintsville vs Pikeville Semi Finals 1A
I look for this game to have a bit more finess than the regular season match up. Due to Timble from Paintsville and Battaile from Pikeville, having more involvment in their offenses. These two teams and Russellville and Beechwood, may quite possibly make up the most tallented final four 1A teams that have been pitted against each other in the six class era. Very well rounded teams that can put up big offensive numbers and defenses that can stop you with out crowding the box, or running a nickel or dime secondary packages. This game should have an entirely different outlook than the last. I dont think a lopsided win for either team is possible. I think Paintsville had their "hick up" against the Rams, inwhich they hurt themselves a few times. Their game at Paris wasnt as close as the score indicated and had the starters played more in the second half, the final score is likely to be high 50s/60s to Paris' low teens. Paris had speed all over the place and Paintsville neutralized it with speed and physicality. Pikevilke has the same speed as Paris, but is more balanced and much more physical. I cant see this game being anything more than one for the ages and will be talked about for a long time. With all this said... Paintsville 35 Pikeville 28
