Not I. I once picked up a huge t bone steak from Alamo Steakhouse in Pigeon Forge and took it back to our rental cabin. I cut into it and say a bit of pink in the middle of the steak. I threw it in the fridge and made a couple BOLOGNA and cheese sandwiches instead. Bologna and Vienna Sausages are two of my favorites.

Absolutely. The blacker the BOLOGNA the better. I used to like to melt a thick slice of block Velveeta Cheese on them. Noticed I said them as in multiple sandwiches?

Last year Shelby Valley had no intention of passing the ball. I could be wrong, but I look for the same this season. I talked to one coach in Class 2A District 8, and he thinks Valley is the favorite going into this season. Time will tell.

I used to love the old K Mart sub's. I think they had salami, bologna, ham, American cheese, onion, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pepper rings, mayo and mustard. I love bologna sandwiches. I like them plain or with any combination of the following: Plain white bread, bologna, cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion, green olives, pepper rings, salami, smoked turkey, ham, mustard and mayo.

I think we need to just get rid of the helmets and pads and go with flags. That is how it will be eventually. I don't like the new rule.

I absolutely love hotdogs but haven't had one in I guess around 4 years. Hopefullly, I will get SOME soon. I prefer chilli, and slaw on my hotdogs. If I don't have slaw, cheese is a nice addition to the chilli.

My vote for the best helmet logo goes to the Paris Greyhounds. Next would be a two way tie between the Danville Admirals and Belfry Pirates.

Spring Valley out of Huntington, Wv defeated the Pikeville Panthers in the championship game at the UPIKE 7on7 tourney today. Not a bad showing at all by the Panthers. Spring Valley plays in West Virginia's largest classification.

I played in Betsy Layne High School in the late 80's and early 90's. We hated Prestonsburg with a passion, and we considered it our biggest rivalry. Both schools are in Floyd County and are in the county school system. During our school's history, we have only beaten Prestonsburg once that being in 1986, so I'm not sure if that would be considered a rivalry or not. I do know I loathed the Blackcats.

Nice interview. It's great to see some of the lesser nontraditional power programs get some much deserved recognition. Coach Jones has certainly changed the culture at Phelps in a short period of time.

I've heard a rumor that former Prestonsburg defensive coordinator James DeRossett is the new defensive coordinator at Betsy Layne. Can anyone confirm this?

I talked to a Betsy Layne assistant coach last week, and he said Coach McCoy will return as the head man. He also told me Betsy Layne will have several seniors this season and a strong incoming freshman class. Their defense will be their strongest component of the team. He said they will more than likely be starting a freshman at quarterback, and they say he has a lot of potential. A lot depends on how fast they learn the offense. The coach sent me video of a senior lineman that they have. His name is Jermiah Keathley. In the video he bench pressed 355 rather easily and just missed 375. He also squatted 550 at the end of a workout. The Bobcat have won 1 game each of the past two seasons. Although the Bobcats only won 1 game last season several of the games were close. Look for the Bobcats to improve in the win column this season.
