Credit coaching and SK's schedule for the build up and momentum that they've created going into the regional (and prob state) tournament. Maggie Jones is the girl that was hitting those threes. She maybe only an 8th grader but she is far under utilized IMO on this team. She's shooting over 45% from behind the arc! Her ball handling is excellent. I predict we see a lot more of her when the games really start to matter over the next two weeks.

Campbell's a good team, Clos and Jolly are good players. They are complimented with some great depth. It should be a second go around the at the state tournament for these two teams. SK showed what we've been seeing though, they are ready for the tournament. First half was closer but SK pulled ahead by 10+ as I expected and finished with the 8pt win. Good Luck to CC at regions against Mason County, that will be a tough game. We will see one of them at the Sweet Sixteen!

Tonight SK is going to show how much they've improved over the year. The schedule has been brutal to prepare for tournament time and it's worked. I think SK wins by 10+. CC is a great team but I don't think they stay with the Lady Pioneers

Ive been saying all season that SK has the tools to make some big noise. Their schedule has been brutal and I appreciate you taking note of that. They just might lose out the rest of the games this year but districts and regions are a whole new season! Everyone starts 0-0! Watch out for the Pioneers 10th region!

This will be a great end of the season test for SK. They are healthy and playing well right now and I expect they will win this game. Meier and Harmeyer are taking pressure off Ally and the younger bench players are playing strong. They could make a nice run in the tournament if they keep heading in this direction

Was this game close at all? Any SK stats available? Hoping SK can get a win or two down the stretch here, schedule looks tough. A win or two going into tournament would be nice.

Congrats to Dillon! An even bigger congrats to Wayne State, they landed a player with D1 talent. Watching him play this fall was a pleasure. He pushed through difficult things down the stretch because of his heart and commitment to the team. Dillon will have a great college career.

The refs. I think most people can accept refs seeing things differently than yourself. But all that's asked for is consistency, please just stay consistent for both sides. Throughout the whole game.

I don't get to see all the games. JC was kept completely silent? What's happening that he is the leading scorer one game and gets blanked another? By this time in the season there should be some consistency and rhythm to the offense. Anyone whose at every game able to share insight?

Congrats to all the boys! I see FOUR Simon Kenton underclassmen on the 1st/2nd team list, looks like SK is headed for another dominating season in 2016!

Weyer can play D and rebound with the best players his size. I'm sure it was the wrist and just getting back into things. I think NCC wins the game here. I do not believe holy cross has the depth or size to win. I think the same issue will keep them out of the regional finals in March. They lack any real depth and it will haunt them down the stretch this year.

Holmes is undefeated in the region with a solid wins over Highlands and Ryle. I think they've proven the title is theirs to lose. I believe they will come out of the 9th this year.

Ally and Shelby back. Jones and Stamper are bench players, so not having them shouldn't greatly affect things. They are good players but are probably only 3-4 points a game average combined. Playing at MC will be tough but SK should come away with the win. IMO

I probably wasn't super clear. Of course some of the football players could have helped. But IMO I don't think any of them are difference makers on this team. Who wouldn't take an athlete like Racke off the bench to give you tough/hard play, but I don't think that's what ails SK right now.

From what I've seen I would not say it's the guard play that's causing losses. And certainly not losing the football guys. I don't think Racke even gets a lot of playing time if he were playing. The team has to keep shifting their style and strategy to fit their strengths. I am hopeful they are headed in that direction. Often losses help that happen

Shining Stars posts all stats for all their players going back several seasons. Just checked it - 445 threes, 9/game, 29%, 2014/15 season. Almost twice as many attempts as the next most active shooter of all players, all ages that season. Just to be clear, I don't have a dog in the fight. Just wasn't sure it was a coaching thing given the history here. Conner has two of the best freshman in the area and I also am not coming down on the players involved.

This is the same girl that took over 400 threes in the aau season a year or two ago, and made less than 30% of them then. Maybe it's not a team/coaching issue.

Regardless of foul trouble, SK has got to get JC more involved. They won't turn the corner without him becoming a go to shooter for SK. Great effort and well played game by SK, the talent is there to play with the good teams.

THIS ^^^^^^^ Maybe a few tough losses will wake things up in independence boys bball. How about getting specific with kids about their roles on the court. Every player is valuable but not every player should expect to shoot 20 shots a game. Give JC the ball!

I don't want to sound bias but the game really was much better than the score. SK did a great job limiting Boley (Megan Buckner mostly did the work). The score was closer until the 4th quarter and then it got ugly. Stinson is a great player and so is Taylor Thomas, she had a great game too. E-town is loaded and showed why they are the state favorite.

Final - 67-39 E town. Was a good game until the 4th quarter. SK did a good job limiting Boley, especially in the first half. Jada Stinson makes other players around her great, she is a great player. Good game, SK just couldn't stay with them.

The whole 2020 class in nky is loaded. Simon Kenton, a top 15 team in the state, has one 2020 girl starting and another that is one of the first girls off the bench. Grant County has a 2020 starter, and I think the tall Holy Cross girl starts (or at least is a significant contributor). Dixie and Ludlow have an 8th grade starter each I believe. There's also a varsity contributor at Campbell. In addition to all those girls, there are several more 2020 girls logging significant JV minutes at SK, Campbell, Holy Cross, and Dixie. Please feel free to add or correct where this info might be off, not 100% sure on all that. But thats a lot of middle school girls logging significant varsity/JV minutes. Scherr is a great player, but she's just one of many here in our area. It would not surprise me if 4-5 nky 2020 girls end up playing D1 college when they graduate. How long has it been since nky has had that many girls in one grade go play D1? It's a good class

Why does this poll even exist? If they can't get representation from all the major regions for voting then they shouldn't release the poll. Harlan #11? Holy Cross #13? Lyon County #14? Nothing against those teams but if you've seen SK or Scott County or others too, everyone knows that's not how things are. Why is the 8th and 9th regions not represented by voters? Did the local papers just not send in votes? Anyone know how this poll works?

Madi Meier (9pts) and Megan Buckner (7pts) with nice games. 10-15 rebounds between the two of them also. Strong height precence starting to show and chemistry with Niece and Gilliam continuing to grow. SK is headed in a good direction
