Cooper 61 Simon Kenton 57 (2OT)

Bad shooting nights?

I would guess than any poor shooting might have something to do with the defense Cooper plays. They get after it on that end of the floor.

Was told that SK Hawkins and Coopers S McNeil never scored in this game, who would have thought.

A double overtime.

Lot of fans from both teams on this site....any details? Sounds like it must of been a heck of a game.

If true, that would be some impressive defense (?). Both typically get some shots up in their games.

Everyone knows that McNeil is good and normally takes a lot of great shots, but IMO Hawkins (who is good also) needs to shoot more! Very unselfish player!! Like others have said, some fanominal defense being played!

Halftime: C 24-20. 3-pointers: C 5 (Kunkel 3, McNeil, Rohlman); SK 3 (Sammons 3)

Younger bro Chris McNeil 17 pts...Sean McNeil 0 points. Doubt we see that very often if ever again over the next 2 years.

Crazy. Statement though for Cooper. "We can win without having Sean carry us."

By the way, where did you find this boxscore?

Was at the game and as always Cooper played good D. I thought this was the best defensive effort that I have seen this year from SK. Entertaining game, SK got down 11 early and battled back. I don't think it was either team's best offensive game but both played hard.

As for Sean and JC, JC was in foul trouble and eventually fouled out. Sean missed some open looks in the first half and when that carried over in the second half Coach Sullivan set him down early in the third and he never saw the floor again. It looked like Sean let his shooting woes carry over to the rest of his game and Sullivan was having none of that. Even with two kids fouling out he still did not go back to him. A true teaching moment.

I wouldn't go that far. Chris is a very good shooter in his own right. Tough playing behind two older brothers that are know for scoring the basketball. I feel Chris should be looking to score more than he does, especially on nights where Sean and Adam are closely guarded or the shots simply aren't falling which we have seen these past 2 or 3 games from Cooper.

Interesting. Maybe an "important but not necessary" moment.

Again, Chris will be on the list of Top 2018 9th Region players.
