South Oldham 87 Simon Kenton 63

Dragons dominated in the second half. Really enjoyed watching them play selfless basketball. They shoot 40% from deep for the season and really play team first.

South is a solid team. Ball never sticks in any one players hands for more than a second. I love how they ran their motion, hard cuts looking to attack and shoot or kick. South only shot a few bad shots the entire night and was deadly from the charity stripe. They play Owen Feb 13, believe I will make the trip to Owen to catch that one.

That is one to definitely put on the calendar. Plan on going!!

Drops SK to 8-8 for the season, I believe. I guess my worries about the guard situation have manifested. Is this team missing Walker and Racke that much?

I remember when SK was a basketball school.....

From what I've seen I would not say it's the guard play that's causing losses. And certainly not losing the football guys. I don't think Racke even gets a lot of playing time if he were playing. The team has to keep shifting their style and strategy to fit their strengths. I am hopeful they are headed in that direction. Often losses help that happen

I am not buying this one. With one sophmore starting and 2 more first off the bench, Cam, Brady and others would have most definitely helped. With that said they are not there and SK has to move on without them. They have more than enough talent to compete for the region but they have to pull it together. JC looked better than he did against Cooper and they really need him to continue to get in the flow. SK is long but not overly quick, perimiter defense is a key for this team. If they can limit penetration from smaller quicker guards this will go a long way in their developement.

Walker and Racke aren't playing, I must have been hiding under a rock.....what gives?

Racke would ad some toughness to this group. No dog in the fight but the word I keep hearing is 'soft'.

I probably wasn't super clear. Of course some of the football players could have helped. But IMO I don't think any of them are difference makers on this team. Who wouldn't take an athlete like Racke off the bench to give you tough/hard play, but I don't think that's what ails SK right now.
