  1. My Dad put CT Wolfe at #4 behind Gillis. Said he was a stud back in the day.
  2. 1. Jeff Duggins 2. Brandon Smith 3. Jagger Gillis 4. Reed Lanter 5. Bart Johnson The top 3 all had similar traits. They have/had the ability to run and would lower their shoulder into you when they did. All 3 played LB and excelled at it. They all also have 2 or more state titles.
  3. 1. X 2. Male 3. Boyle 4. South Warren 5. Trinity 6. Douglass 7. Beechwood 8. LCA 9. Manual 10. Madison Central
  4. Perks of being a homer haha. On paper yes Boyle would be 3rd in 2A.
  5. In my opinion, Boyle right now would beat all of 5A EXCEPT South Warren by a running clock. They probably would not put a clock on Corbin and Franklin then obviously they didn’t put one on Central.
  6. Yes really in a year that Frederick Douglass makes the 5A finals after losing to Boyle 34-7 in the last game of the regular season. Mind you Boyle was one failed 2 point conversion from making it a running clock. Woodford looked just as bad as Logan did. They both just ran into much superior teams.
  7. Freddy D. Coined by our own @PurplePride92 now deemed offensive.
  8. Article said mutual agreement which means UK said it would be best if you explored other options.
  9. 5A this year would’ve been easier than 4A and by the way we’re typically a large 3A school playing up in class already.
  10. If FD wins it would shock me more than any other team winning a title this weekend. It’s not impossible but very unlikely. I’m going to say SW by 28 or more.
  11. Any new leads coming out of the Lexington Catholic camp? Awfully quiet for a job of this caliber.
  12. Hester was the outside of the box one I mentioned. I don’t see him returning and I think they want someone who will be in the building. Hester has retired from teaching.
  13. That’s exactly what it came down to 2 years ago. I think Boyle had 5 turnovers which ultimately cost them the game.
  14. Do I need to think outside of the box of names already listed? If so I’ve got quite a name in mind.
  15. This setup was made to give the best team(s) home field advantage throughout the playoffs and to put the best 2 teams in the finals. For the most part this system has done that. I would like to see the RPI used in all rounds. Do East and west 1vs16 2vs15 and so on. Then starting in the quarterfinals reseed it state wide, 1vs 8, 2vs 7. Then once more in the semis.
  16. I’d love to see Russellville win this but I think Pikeville comes home with the W.
  17. Boyle County Record 13-1 Last game 54-16 vs Logan County Final BGP rating #1 in 4A Johnson Central Record 12-2 (12-1 in games played on the field) Last game 42-24 vs Franklin County Final BGP rating #3 in 4A Here we go folks. In a rematch of the 2019 4A State finals we have Boyle County vs Johnson Central. Boyle enters this game on a 12 game winning streak with all of their playoff victories coming by way of a running clock. Johnson Central has won their last 9 in a row including #2 Corbin in the quarterfinals and #4 Franklin County in the Semis. The last matchup between these 2 teams came in the 2019 4A Championship game with Johnson Central coming away with a 21-20 victory over Boyle. Boyle is looking for their first back to back state titles since 2009 & 2010. Offensively Boyle is led by QB Jagger Gillis and WR Cole Lanter. While those two are the most well known names the big guys up front have done a great job clearing the way for RBs Bodner and Stone. Boyle’s D had the Rebel faithful really questioning their ability after the LCA loss early in the season but since have found their footing and have not given up more than 2 scores in a game in their last 11 outings. It is no secret that Johnson Central is playing for more than themselves this season. Midway through the year they lost their beloved and legendary coach Jim Matney and have been playing inspired football since. On Offense the Eagles provide a heavy dose of the run game game, rushing for over 4,000 yards on the year so far. They have 4 guys at over 600 yards which will really put pressure on the Boyle D to stay honest and not key on just one guy. Defensively the Eagles are giving up just 15 ppg on the year. This game is shaping up on paper to be just as good as the one from 2019. It should be one of the better games of all the classes! Can Boyle pull off the repeat or will Matney’s spirit carry the Eagles to a title? Who do you have winning the 4A State Championship Friday night at Kroger Field?
